But he runs about n that and his heart is in the right place, so he gets a free pass by some on here.
-
He's final ball is nearly always piss poor and led to the breakaway for their goal. I'd rather we play Gordon RW and bring Wilson on and move Isak out left.
-
Assuming City win their game in hand, we are already 7 points adrift of 5th and the last CL spot (If England even get it). Can't see the reason for spending money next month chasing something we're highly unlikely to get. Let's get through the month, get a few players back from injury and make a push for 6th and see where we are in the summer.
-
How much realistically can we spend in next month due to FFP? I doubt it would even be enough for one first team ready player as everyone would be looking to rinse us in our desperation. Best we can hope for imo is hope we get the bulk of the injured back in the team by February and make a push for the EL spots.

Think it's more to do with the corporate part of that stand being given over to us. Do they have another in another part of the ground?
-
He'll be off to be England manager when Southgate leaves after the EC. I'd imagine the owners are already putting feelers out for the next manager. That is not a criticism, he's far exceeded my expectations since he came and injuries have ruined us this season, but he is not faultless. No real plan B if it's not working and playing the same players who are clearly half fit or knackered.
-
Limited but would have made more of an impact than Ritchie this season coming off the bench. I assume Liege must be covering most or all of his wages whilst he's there?
-
The club/management have had a look and obviously decided they don't want him. Tino's emergence at LB, plus the fact we have Burn, Targett and Dummett who can play there as well have rendered him surplus to requirements. The fact he can't get on ahead of Ritchie at LW means we don't fancy him further foward either.

I'm 50. Born a month before the mackems won the FA cup. Got maybe 30 years left if I'm lucky, starting to think I'll never see us win anything in my lifetime.
-
Why? So we can concentrate on qualifying for the EL? There's no way in hell in we're getting CL next season.
-
I think we must hold the world record for injury time goals conceeded.
-
And Chelsea will get Boro in the semi. I honestly think NUFC are cursed to never win anything ever again, at least not in my lifetime.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Beth replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Of the five teams we could have faced, we would have had by far the easiest. Rennes in the EL as well, who are the french equivalent of Crystal Palace. No doubt if Chelsea beat us tonight they'd get the winner of the Port Vale/Boro game in the semis. -
Outrage at this on the SMB. Is he really that bad? Seems to me he's a mid table Championshit manager at a mid table Championshit team.
-
Should've been been sacked for not winning the title last season.
-
Isak, Willock, JoeL and Murphy were all brought back too soon, and we are paying the price for it now.
-
What a dreamboat he is, almost enough to turn me gay.
-
Dummett for Lascelles and Ritchie and Hall on for the wide players would be sensible now.
-
Yes, from the heady days of Skunkers. God I miss that place........
-
If we have any budget for next month it might be worth taking a punt on a young striker, or bringing back one of the loan strikers. There's barely one fit player between Isak and Wilson atm and Gordon is too valuable in his favoured role to be played out of postion as a stop gap.
-
It probably won't though, due to us and Man U going out early. Spain will definitely get one of the two extra spots and it looks like Germany or Italy will get the other, unless City and Arsenal both get to the final.
-
It seems I'm in the minority then. You never know, we might beat Chelsea and be two games from Wembley again, although of course with our luck this season we'd get Liverpool in the semi's....
-
Well I'd rather be in the EL than nothing, and that's the best we can relistically hope for for next season now.
-
I don't understand the kamikaze attacking when it was 1-1. We were never going to win the CL but could have gone far in the EL. It was like a blackjack player twisting on 20 hoping to get the ace.
