  1. No they don't England have beaten Panama and Tunisia and haven't won a knockout game in a tournament in 12 years Aye, England aren't favourites or even second favourites like. Which might work in their favour tbf. ...but let's get passed Colombia first ffs They're twice the side of Tunisia and England made bloody hard work of that for the most part.
  2. The scenes if Mexico & Japan went through today man.
  3. Because I just can't see a good enough reason to quantify it in such a way. Say Switzerland thrash Sweden 4-0. Brazil edge past Mexico on pens. Who would I rather play? Well the answer isn't all that definitive & clear to me in such a scenario. So without knowing things such as form, which requires fresh judgement on a game-to-game basis, there's no such thing as an easier side to me.
  4. If I had to have any preference/choice of teams to come up against, I would sooner make that choice based on form/last match rather than names anyway. Same would go for Newcastle in a semi final for instance. Would I rather play say Leicester bang in form or Chelsea not really playing up to their full capabilities at the time? Certainly makes it a less clear cut question. I personally would veer towards the bigger side, with the added rationale that teams often step up and play better when the quality they're facing is perceived as being higher. Basically, it's just not as simple as > see big name > choose other way, for me personally. Gladly football doesn't work that way too as we have seen numerous times in this tournament.
  5. Still bite us in the arse that we didn't even try to finish first get Japan. And it'd go down as a shite WC if we only beat Tunisia and Panama and then lose the only two decent teams we played Love the excuses coming out already Just face it we should have been trying to win every game man, nay such thing as an easy side of the tournament. Russia just knocked out one of the best sides in it earlier, after all. Anything can happen. Uruguay, Portugal, France, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico & Japan Colombia, Spain, Russia, Croatia, Denmark, Switzerland & Sweden If you could hand pick one side to be on before the tournament started, which would you choose? On one side of the draw, we could have played our best but if the opposition also did, there's 3 better than us and 2-3 who'd run us close. On the other there's one who'd beat us at their best (they're out), a few who on their day could beat us but if we play our best, we should beat. I'd say "Oh, here we have 14 teams all capable of getting out the groups, they'll all be tough games. As well as that, this is football and there's thankfully a lot more to it than face-value. We best just take it on a game-by-game basis try win every match we can and build up steam as well as we can".
  6. I don't know how you've come to that conclusion. Experience of the league is obviously important and an advantage. Good players being coached properly can adjust quicker of course.
  7. Aye but they're used to the Gignac, Giroud, Balotelli, Cavani, Brandao, Gomis's of the world
  8. Is that a prerequisite to do well in the Prem? Did Hudds have a lot of it last season. I don't think we do see that time after time at all. All three sides who went down last season had loads of Prem experience. No, not necessarily. I just think it's hasty to suggest these lofty finishes for Wolves before seeing how their players take to a new league which is one hell of a step up generally from what they're used to. And regarding the second bit, I meant we see teams go down every single year with talented players, meaning there's clearly factors other than player ability to doing well in the PL. I mean I said they wont be in a relegation battle, which they won't be imo. They've got Neves who'd get in a top 6 side easily, better keeper than most around, them, Jota, Boly, Costa etc. The fact they dominated that league in such a fashion would suggest that they were a PL side playing at that level. Did you see them against City in the cup? Should have beat them. They do, but my point is PL experience isn't some fix all for teams. You necessarily need it to be a good side. I did yes, they played well, I'm not doubting that they're capable of doing so. That said, you can't really read too much into one cup tie - whether against City or anyone else; 38 games is much different proposition to just setting up for one. Those players you named played very well to decent in the Championship, there's not really much to suggest they'll definitely bring that same form to the PL. In fact it would be more accurate and supported by evidence that they most likely won't bring that exact same form and will have to adjust. Look at Dwight Gayle. I'm not saying they're relegation candidates, but I'd certainly lean more towards the suggestion that they will struggle to find the same form than I would to them breezing survival as many are suggesting. EDIT: FWIW - asides from ourselves, I'm more interested to see how Wolves will make the step up than I have been about any other Championship side in recent years. Really interesting stuff.
  9. Never any doubt from Rakitic like.
  10. Urgh, Jorgensen with the stuttered run up. Awful.
  11. Love it when the keepers come out on top like.
  12. They all do it man. Last 2 steps of the run up the keeper usually steps forward.
  13. Happens often I think. It's meant to be as the ball is struck the keeper can move, but oftentimes you see keepers move forward as the player takes his last few steps of the run up. Akinfeev done it just earlier today.
  14. Good point. Psychologically in Denmark's favour now you would think.
  15. Fully behind the Danes now. Awful from Modric.

  17. Hamza Choudhury Came on against us in the 2-1 win at the King Power. Think both of their centre mids got injured leading to an unexpected appearance from him. Diame & Shelvey schooled him, obviously.
