  1. Looking to Jonjo Shelvey to make the difference for us tonight, he's the best passer on the field by a mile, and one good moment from him could/will win us the match.
  2. We both have weakened sides here, so I'm still positive of our chances of winning the game.
  3. Aye, anyway Jamie Carragher tells a story which is quite the contrary, where Rafa is addressing the team tactically after having to take off Steve Finnan with an injury, putting Dietmar Hamann in his place on which would change the course of the game - and he actually sent Cisse out as well in the chaos of it all before realising he had sent 12 men back out.
  4. Was wondering what Rafa looked like as a player in his younger days (as you do on a Sunday night)... http://i66.tinypic.com/302whtv.jpg
  5. Thauvin is an excellent player, one who will go on to play for bigger clubs than us or Marseille. Woefully managed here and part of a terrible squad, no wonder his heart and head weren't in it. Like Morgan Sanson too, bit of a goalscoring midfielder, has all the promise of Grenier from a few year back.
  6. He's tried to do the Steven Taylor and head it on the floor. Unlucky lad, full marks for effort.
  7. Both dropped. Sandro apparently has been poor and has a shocking first touch and confidence issues. Klaassen can't replicate what made him sought after at Ajax as it's a completely different league and he's not adaptable enough. He was at his best in centre midfield, fairly deep, in Holland and obviously he's nowhere near physical or combative enough to play that over here.
  8. Their team looks so ordinary despite the amount of money spent in the summer.
  9. What They seem happy mind, can't underestimate the importance of positivity amongst the players, wins points for sure.
  10. Well played Andre Ayew, been on the end of a lot of stick from West Ham fans lately but he's just pulled them through to the next round. Good player, would take him here any day.
  11. Stuff like that will make certain players want to tackle him hard in games and possibly injure him.
  12. Ah, so he doesn't, July 1st 2018... Cheers for the correction
  13. Well they're right to be like that. Spurs are an anomaly in football in that loads of players they've paid low prices for have turned out to be class. Not everyone gets a striker who knocks about being below average at championship clubs and then becomes world class like Spurs either FSG did support him though. They spent, what, 40M or so apiece on Salah and Oxlade-Chamberlain. He just didn't buy the players he needed, although it might have been FSG who f***ed up the VVD transfer - don't know who their "middlemen" were. Not forgetting they have paid about £50 million for Naby Keita who joins them in January.
  14. He does some like a really caring person. I remember against Swansea or Huddersfield (some away game this season) Hayden got fouled and was down injured but the ref played on, Merino was screaming "Isaac, are you alright Isaac?" and then screaming at the ref to stop the game You could see on his face there was genuine care and compassion. Great lad.
  15. Probably biased, but who would want to leave managing a club with adoring fans and everything going well to go and manage a national team where you will be sacked unless win the euros or the world cup & have less time to spend with the players to get them playing the way you want. Club football is what managers are most admired, famed and made legends for, not international football.
  16. Didn't see the game but love it when a young unknown has a massive breakthrough game his family must be elated! Same here He looked good as well, tracked back and won a few big tackles. Massive night for him he'll be buzzing today, probably sitting reading articles on the internet about his performance in dreamland
  17. Courageous stuff from Wolves. Entertaining game of a football.
