  1. In some way, the brokenness and injustice of that whole situation that spelt the end of his time here just makes him even more great and majestic to me. At least that's been my emotional coping mechanism all these years. I fucking love him, probably more than anyone should love a footballer
  2. I love how the forum is pretty much united in adoration and love for him. Even if thinking about him makes Mike want to hurt people, it's still a brotherhood and that's a beautiful thing.
  3. Aye, I was fortunate enough to be in the Gallowgate for them both, the Bolton one was glorious for the directness and speed of it all, but the Blackburn one was beyond belief. When you look at this still image, 10 or so yards into the opposition half, 3 players closing him down, a fully set back 4. How he weaves his way into the 6 yard box from that position and smashes it into the roof of the net is absurd.
  4. My sense is that as soon as he turns the Bolton player (Davies maybe?) he knows he's going to attempt to go all the way. Either that or he's insanely aware running at that speed that Cisse stumbles offside just when the pass was on. Anyway who the fuck does a turn like that, full 180 in that situation, perfectly evading the player. The best.
  5. At the right price, I'd be happy with him as a Trippier replacement to offer cover on both sides. As I said, I like Williams and think he's decent - but as a starter, in attempt to create a settled back four and recover our defensive stability and solidity, we need someone with a similar upside to Tino imo.
  6. I didn't say he was clear of him in the final third, but there's not many full backs who produce consistently in the final third, Williams included. Again, Tino is heavily linked to Manchester City - the best team in the country and one of the best in the world. Williams isn't and there's a good reason for that. I don't think it's particularly close between them tbh.
  7. I'm sure they are, but all you have to do is watch them both and it's obvious that Tino is a better player. It's why Tino will move to an 'elite' club and Williams won't.
  8. It's a nice graph but it's not a football match, and I've watched both players and Tino is far more impressive to me. He's a vastly underrated dribbler, fantastic at riding challenges and progressing the ball. Defensively he's one of the best 1v1 full backs in the league. Neither player is that consistent in the final third, but neither is Hall who most of us consider approaching world class. Tino is clear imo, and possibly even slightly underrated on here since the talk of his move away.
  9. Tino is much better though, both defensively and as a ball carrier. If Williams replaces him as a starter it's a clear downgrade. Speculating of course.
  10. Williams is decent, but he signed a new 4 year contract last year so will cost a fair bit. If we're looking at signing him, it will be to start you would think. Comparing him to Tino, he's a clear downgrade and older, and certainly wouldn't represent a good signing for a club looking to challenge the top 4/5 imo.
  11. He's insufferable man. Tries to buy a pen, stands there jumping up and down whinging like a little child in a toy shop and as a result is offside ruining a promising chance for his team. Awful.
  12. He'll be okay, he's got Jude on now. That's a man great for morale, who will never whinge and moan at his team mates.
  13. The myth Vini at it again. Absolutely shite.
  14. Obviously we've got a lot of work to do, but that list is a bit mad. It has us beneath the likes of Fulham, Forest, Bournemouth, Wolves and Brentford but just Anderson alone, an England international and likely £100m player, plus Longstaff with 200+ PL/CL games and Miley coming through puts us far ahead of anything any of those clubs have produced from within.
  15. @Heron, it needs a bit of refinement but here's an idea for a simple send off flag for Trippier if wor flags had something planned for the last home game of the season.
  16. Ugarte is peak Turkish league. He'll leave Man U in the summer and nobody will notice until he turns out for Fenerbahce one Thursday night in October.
  17. Pretty sure the sole criteria to become a West Ham striker is just to look like a Venezuelan barber.
  18. Yeah I mean if City are perfect in their remaining games, all it would take is for Arsenal to lose one more game in addition to the one at the Etihad in a few weeks.
  19. Albeit it will require City to be perfect, but all it will take is Arsenal to lose just one game and it's done. Every game they play will be under immense pressure, especially at home to us for example if we go there and set up well.
  20. Get @OpenC out next time, he's probably got a few nice ND filters to really smooth those waters out - I don't know if he accepts boost bars as payment though
  21. Canny size selfie stick that like Captain Paulo.
  22. All it would really take if Man City win their remaining games and game in hand is Arsenal losing just one match.
