  1. I imagine it will be his team mate Benjamin Sesko who will be high on the list for them with their playing style, physicality and pace.
  2. Arsenal should buy him, he even looks like Bacary Sagna.
  3. I wouldn't say dreadful but I'd agree that they were boring to watch from a pure entertainment point of view, but they still had something exceptional about them, the sheer dominance, the ludicrous points totals, the high level tactical approach etc.
  4. I stand by my comment from weeks ago that Liverpool would be the least exceptional premier league champions in the last decade or so. Chelsea, Man City and even Leicester had something exceptional about them as a team - this Liverpool side are bland and boring other than Salah.
  5. Shite game in a typically dead Anfield atmosphere like.
  6. This man. People seem much quicker to cast doubt over him when his performances dip even slightly, but name me another centre back who is pressing the opposition in the final third to create a goal. There’s only one Fabian Schar.
  7. Looks like the scenes outside of the players entrance at St James' in the summer when Mitchell and Howe leave the office on deadline day after failing to secure as much as a loan to buy deal.
  8. That was out of the blue as the new lad Le Fee clearly has quality but has looked somewhat uncomfortable and at times peripheral out wide, he seems more a controlled, technical footballer than an explosive winger - yet he just turned into Anthony Gordon for a moment and with a lovely touch and acceleration to create that goal.
  9. Their manager has done a commendable job with them I think. I quite often hear of managers turning down jobs as they weren’t able to build or bring their own coaching team with them. As far as I know he came alone with very little experience and has shown to have something about him.
  10. I’d be a lot wiser to reserve judgement but I do feel that their 3 recent signings are poor, albeit they’re just loans. They give the impression of spectacle signings which work out for a few games and come crashing down, somewhat like Coutinho - although this crop aren’t half as talented as he was.
  11. This game is crying out for Joao Felix.
  12. Can’t question his commitment to modelling himself on Villa legend Gabby Agbonlahor.
  13. He's Gattuso with technique and I don't think that's being hyperbolic. Over the last few months watching him perform there's been many a moment where I've said inwardly "how the fuck does this guy play for us?"
  14. Man of the match performance against Sunderland, scorer of our first Champions League goal in 20 years, one of the most honest, hard working players we've had in recent history. Deserves to be considered a cult hero.
  15. If that pass from Bouaddi to David was intentional it's probably one of the greatest assists I've ever seen.
  16. If Duran is £77m and Watkins £70m+ then Isak is worth double, and that's being conservative. He's twice the player and some. They haven't got a chance. If Isak moves, he moves to the top. Arsenal aren't that.
  17. Historically I can only recall Ibrahimovic and Van Persie pulling off those kinds of unorthodox yet elegant finishes.
  18. Beautifully illustrated point I wonder if Sean uses a Le Creuset saucepan to cook his super noodles in?
  19. Villa to sell them both and come in for Isak. He even looks a bit like Agbonlahor.
  20. Maatsen has been poor for them, Onana at c.£50m has not been a game changer in the way Tonali is for us in the centre. I'd say Onana is a bit of a miss in the way Diaby was, flashes of quality but lacks consistency and can look pretty terrible in certain games. Their transfer business hasn't been great imo.
  21. Willock is and has always been a quite erratic player, he doesn't play with a great deal of control. What Murphy offers from the right is almost the opposite imo, he's dependable, predictable (in the positive sense for his teammates) and has a narrow skillset which he's been honing to a high level. I think Barnes on the right is the closest we would get to Murphy without breaking the patterns of play too much.
  22. Urgh, Villa fans cheering Paqueta pulling up.
