  1. Not the first time in recent weeks Darlow has been beaten near post.
  2. Lewis is so frustrating. One of the most timid players I've seen play for us, genuinely terrified to play the ball forwards. ASM gan ballistic at him there.
  3. Taken us two years to win that many.
  4. Holding got slapped up by Cancelo's boot.
  5. He's the boy. Portugal have an unreal side, interesting to see how they will line up.
  6. Ian Wright and Carragher are entertaining and still have a certain energy about them that is relatable as a fan listening. The rest I could take or leave tbh.
  7. Of course not, Bruce had him sat back defending, picking the ball up deep into his own half much like he has Saint-Maximin doing at present. Steve Bruce is not even a manager any sensible owner would entrust to get a team into the play offs in the Championship, never mind win it. He has nothing going for him other than perhaps some vague respect for his playing career, although nobody under 30 can remember it and thus the current generation of players couldn't give a fuck about it. You wouldn't see Brentford, Swansea, Norwich, Bournemouth, Watford go anywhere near Steve Bruce. Yet we, the Premier League club did. Unbelievable man, our largely vilified owners don't get enough criticism tbh. Let off the hook for 10 years. Staring down the barrel of their third relegation. Good.
  8. To be honest, this will be the easiest one to take if we do go. I of course want us to stay up just for the glimmer of hope that something may change and we may begin to feel like we can do something again under a new regime. However if we go down this time, it will be sweetened considerably by MA's investment plummeting in value and all of these clowns, these weasels, the pundits, Luke Edwards' and the likes being shown up as the dimwitted idiots they are, and Bruce as the inept chancer that he is. It's exactly what Ashley deserves for even considering Steve fucking Bruce, the biggest failure in PL history worthy enough to be trusted with keeping his asset's value in tact. All of the above are made for each other, and just shows to me that as you move up the hierarchy, competence seems to decrease not increase as we tend to assume must be the case. If any one of us in our average jobs made repeated glaring errors, showed a lack of fundamental understanding and showed no signs of improvement across multiple years, we'd be tossed out by our collars and deservedly so. Just look at Luke Edwards, the guy is clearly as thick as mince, the amount of people on this forum alone who could write compelling, honest, insightful articles about our club, yet you have this guy, not even from the area, can barely put a sentence together, can't fucking spell, has admitted he's a troll, openly provokes fans... and he's the man covering the club? I know people who would fucking dream of a job like that.
  9. Needs guidance of a more experienced centre back. I'm sure he's got all the attributes required but is looking all over the place. All in the head I reckon rather than him just being shite.
  10. MA looking well there, shifted some serious beef. Remember him looking a bit trimmer at Fulham last game of 18-19, and he's really kept it off, good for him.
  11. Alonso is one of the best finishers at the club tbf, can see the thinking with their wing backs playing so high up the pitch.
  12. He has every right to swear at the ref in 7 different languages.
  13. They should have all just slowed down in respect for the great artist.
  14. Superb player and one of my favourites to play for us. I got my first season ticket the year he signed and having heard rumblings about his influence in the extraordinary Lille season the previous year I was excited by him. Became apparent very quickly that he was going to take us to another level than the likes of Nolan and those he was replacing could have. He had near perfect technique, incredible vision and was also up for the physical battle and thrived in the challenge. Some highlights for me were his first goal in the league against Wigan, having started the season so well for us we were just waiting for him to get his first goal, think it was around 85 minutes in, 0-0, Gallowgate End, lovely clean strike from outside the box curling away from the keeper into the top left. Another was the exquisite pass to Cisse against Stoke at home the same season, I'm not sure a single other person in the whole ground could see that pass, and no other player on the field could have executed it either. Supreme.
  15. Same, I used to show it and wax lyrical about how supreme this performance was to people who had literally 0 interest... and I wonder why I don't have a big friendship circle
  16. Rooney was having an incredible season and Tiote bullied him out of the game to the point where Fergie just took him off. Was fucking scenes.
  17. I wanna play a game. Batty vs Tiote...who wins? You decide, make your choice On their day, the pairing of Cabaye and Tiote could be competitive with just about anyone. They were excellent together. Used to start games expecting to win the midfield battle (unless Yaya Toure was involved). Imagine that.
  18. Yeah, genuinely seemed like the primary reason he left so early. Iirc he came alone as a 20/21 year old on loan for 6 months before we signed him. Not always easy to settle/transition seamlessly I imagine, couple that with a pretty bad injury and it's no surprise he was longing for Spain/home comforts, particularly being from Pamplona with an opportunity to play for Sociedad.
  19. I don't know enough about Allegri's teams, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone wanting to see a new manager come in if best case scenario happens re: takeover rather than trying to rekindle the past. Me, I just want to be tenth and see Rafa place his glasses away in his top pocket every few weeks. I'd be a happy Newcastle fan
  20. The player standing behind the ref in that photo makes it look like he's clinging on to his last few hairs Maybe that's why he's so angry.
