I swear one of the commentators keeps calling Willock "Chris Willock"

Lovely goal from Wood

This is a deep cut, but watching a ball boy drop a ball during the Southampton/Villa match made me think of the time a Newcastle-Online member talked about how ball boys should be professionalized. I think it was @Wullie unless I'm mistaken?

I won't lie, I laughed and snorted my coffee out my nose reading this . As for Lascelles, he's limited and Rafa's system seemed to protect him against those limitations being exposed. He came off initially as a good club captain but has dropped off as time has gone on.

Interesting to read the Athletic piece with Staveley and Ghodoussi where they talked about not wanting to be held to ransom on players. No mention of the Wood deal though. I get the deal, and still agree with it, but that has to be an example of a cost that changed how clubs viewed our transfer spending.

Unlucky not to score on the header he had in the first half and
the pass for Willock's goal was lovely(nevermind, I need to get my glasses replaced) -

Loved Robert, but he had some absolutely infuriating games as well where he simply could not hit a single corner kick past the first man, took a shot at goal every time he was within 30m of goal to the visible disgust of his team mates, misplaced easy passes and hardly broke a sweat. His lows were as low as his highs were high, and I think a lot of the reputation he got outside of NUFC was formed by his quite frequent shockers.
Watched Robert turn up for Toronto FC and dude was clearly mailing it in. Jogged a bit but would just shoot nearly every pass he got. Then again, John Carver was the head coach so that could explain it.

Will this Ukraine/Russia stuff get as far as Abramovich/Chelsea being affected?
He's currently suing a journalist after being described as "Putin's ATM" in a book, I think.

”The lad is young, has a deep up bringng in football. Did a bit of football management at uni...dropped out (I learned enough) got his Mam to give him the money to buy a football club. Dangerous market...do you go for an club in Administration...or a club that fell from massive heights with no apparent debt...Along comes the two dodgy Salesmen' who bought a lemon (Straight from School for Scoundrels, selling a car)
He took a shite deal believing the twats. I think he wants it to work for the fans...not for the money.”That's an incredible sequence of rationalization.

I loved the "I don't want to say too much about before..." moment. Impression given (which isn't unbelievable) is that Howe is way more connected to his players and communicating more than the human kebab was.

Dude always cared but was 1) thrust in to a bad spot with McClaren and 2) wasn't mature enough at the time. Really think the red card in the Tottenham match killed his career with Rafa

Anyone have a copy of the programme they'd be willing to send me a photo of? My grandfather's write-up was in it today and I've ordered one, but hoping I could send along the photo to my grandma in the mean time.

You've obviously never read Professor Stifler's previous musings on the McCann family.
My dad's a surgeon and leads the interview process for residents for his hospital. The surgeon's association decided that students applying had to undergo personality trait tests as part of their submissions. As one of the lead interviewers, my dad and colleagues had to undergo them so it would be fair. Majority of these surgeons came back as having sociopathic tendencies who were able to disassociate themselves from what was going on. Worrying signs

Haha...I live in West Hamilton, Kirkendal, near Locke Street South. Fairly dull compared to Crown Point.
I passed through once on the way to Niagara-on-the-Lake for a wedding. Went to a nice coffee shop and got drunk at the university pub. Lovely way to spend the day.

Cracking noise when the goals go in given it was restricted crowd. Always nice to see a rogue Orthodox Cathedral visible behind a goal too.
Hamilton's actually a lovely place, besides the large amount of mafia families and biker gangs.

What @woody has said, but Davies covers so much of the pitch, you’d think he was centre mid. We are so lucky to have him, easily our greatest ever player.Qualifying in style would really do wonders for Football here. They all seem like such a great group of players too. Really chuffed for them.
We've come such a long way from Even Pellerud demanding hoofs from the back for the women's team and now this on the men's side. Will say that I thought Zambrano was the real deal to lead this team until the Herdman replacement/coup. Herdman has done an amazing job bringing this team together. We had former CPL players out today which I would have never expected.
