  1. Car washing too, when will they stop?!
  2. There is probably some degree of wiggle room between trusting someone, and thinking they are infallible.
  3. Nah, it's the best. First video is context for the 3rd part of the second video (the Iowa wave) that's for the team I support and where I went to school.
  4. Doubt that. The US is one very few countries that collect taxes on foreign earnings of citizens living abroad.
  5. This is why college football is the best US sport.
  6. So the NBA as a live experience is poor because some people wanted to get their kids a hot dog. Nothing to do with the product on the court.
  7. My favorite is the one who went to a live NBA game and was just meh. Live NBA is the peak of "holy shit these guys are athletic freaks'."
  8. 1. Oh my. 2. Probably hubris.
  9. Great. I've seen a lot of posts from people here talking about how football is dying, and issues with the game. I've never seen posts like that on NFL, MLB, or NBA forums i frequent.
  10. Is this something like the hubris of people who tell us that all of our domestic sports are boring unwatchable trash because we don't have a pyramid like you?
  11. Alternatively, maybe we do some things well, and others could learn from it.
  12. I think there might be some difference here between things like rules changes, and the way the sport is administered.
  13. If the market is actually free, then it literally cant. Scarcity is a thing.
  14. But you (or others) have said nobody is interested in American sports because there was nothing at risk.
  15. Yeah, that's not exploitation. That's rationing.
  16. So higher stakes lead to higher viewership right? What's the international viewership for lower level English football.
  17. It can't. Nobody is forced to attend an NFL game. They aren't selling insulin that people need to live. The market sets the price.
  18. So are high prices a result of people being ripped off by billionaires, or the result of consumer demand. You seem to be contradicting yourself. "US sports just really aren't that popular outside of the US." "Basketball does have some global reach as it is a genuinely global sport " Which is it?
  19. Ah yes, the premier league just has more magnanimous owners willing to forgo profits for the benefit of fans. They could charge more, they just choose to take the revenue hit because they are good guys.
  20. Those numbers are from 2019 when deals were ending. NBA and NFL have negotiated new deals since then.
  21. So less demand to view the product in person.
