  1. It's got to the point where I care less for Steve Bruce than I did for Alan Pardew. How is that even possible? Maybe it's rosy retrospection, but as poor as Pardew was, at least at one point we had a decent run (not that I'm attributing that run to him). The right thing for the club is for Bruce to go now, but unfortunately thanks to club senior management, the right thing for Bruce is to stay. It's looking grim.
  2. I check this thread for positivity dammit. Do we have to start a new positive optimism thread? Is anyone taking title suggestions? I'd like to go with 'Super Positive Thread II Turbo HD Remix Revival"
  3. Maybe Bruce means it's morally wrong to watch his style of football? In which case, I agree.
  4. Screw that. It's not about who is in the big six. It is the very concept of big picture that is the problem.
  5. The forum has become sentient and has answered this question in full.
  6. He isn’t. He’s a mighty pirate How appropriate, you fight like a cow.
  7. Again, and I can't stress this enough, I just don't know who he is or why people post about him. I know nothing about the takeover, current ownership, or anything else bar the underwhelming fact this deal was made a while ago.
  8. Doesn't that mean it'd less likely to have the breaks you'd need to get the Saudi money. Yes but would also mean Saudis would be aware of the extension before they bid Taking the tweet with a pinch of salt mind I still don't understand who or what Steve Wraith is, but that tweet is accurate.
  9. Not to be branded ITK about the club, because I'm not, but I do know that this partnership was agreed ages ago (Jan/Feb) this year.
  10. Seems like an easy way for the PL to say 'look the UK government has taken action, all is well' and move things along. Who knows at this point though!
  11. This kind of opinion always intrigues me. Do you actually think it's a case of him actively looking to avoid the ball over him just having a s*** footballing brain (as evidenced by the insane levels of thick as pigshit needless fouls he'd commit mentioned by toon25 above)? Just find it a hard thing to believe that someone could become/remain a Premier League footballer with the mindset of actively avoiding the ball being a full-on trait. Please don't take this as any kind of defence of the disgusting little scrotum btw. More a broad thought I've had before that cropped up in my mind again from your post. It is hard to believe but I do genuinely believe he actively looked to avoid the ball. He would always call for the ball when he knew he was man marked and stay quiet when he was actually in space. I think he was aware of his limitations but had to be seen to be doing something, so adopted that as a strategy. I know nothing about his character or him as a person, but from a football perspective I'm glad he is no longer a part of the team.
  12. Yeah you're right, it can work both ways. Will be interesting to see over next few weeks. It's a shame because these are the perfect conditions to test that theory!
  13. After seeing Richie's goal yesterday, it got me thinking about confidence players and players that are 'great in training'. With the absence of crowds, I wonder if some players will take more chances, or feel less pressure (and as a result play better), because there isn't any immediate feedback from from the crowd telling them they've made a mistake? I'm not necessarily saying that Richie is a confidence player btw. The goal just reminded me of someone having a pop in training.
  14. Martínez. The answer is Lautaro Martínez.
  15. But I can't visit one other household? Proper morale boosting to see the Prem back in action.
  16. Speaking as a serial lurker/new poster, I don't see it as a clique so much as some people just post more often than others. Like, the regulars to me are just like different characters on the Simpsons (you can all figure who you are). Anyway, that takeover eh? Talk about taking its sweet time, am I right?
  17. This just highlights the state of football in general for me. People should be asking, why does Newcastle need to make a deal with the devil in order to compete? Who's fault is that?
  18. No one does Glad it's not just me Thanks for the new signature, cracking I am honoured.
  19. I've been lurking this forum for about 8 years. This is my first post. I still don't understand who or what a Steve Wraith even is.
