Keegan on NUTV hosting a match from his days (playing/managing) with a relevant guest would be good. I'd actually watch it for the very first time. But then I'd watch Love Island if Keegan was in it.
-
That's Turkish but your point stands. Raved about our fans at the 98 cup final, not that stuff like that matters but its appreciated nonetheless. Never thought about him before but actually, yes, as said with Ten Hag, mmmm.
-
Recall he had it at the mackems too. Despite being in the relegation zone. Think their ultimate demise (five years later) was even put down to getting rid of Bruce at times. Sure enough the mackems and Villa shot up the league straight after he was sacked.
-
Absolutely what it boils down to. Same as Souness and McLaren who like Bruce got their chance, whether we agreed with it or not, and ballsed it up horrendously. Proving us right in the process. Same as Keegan, Sir Bobby, Rafa. Fair enough in the main people got Dalglish and Gullit wrong, but on paper they seemed good appointments and nobody minded enough either way re Roeder, Smith and Ossie. Its not rocket science ffs. Who would want a provenly poor manager to manage there team ffs?
-
Even Pat Nevin, smarter than your average pundit, pointed out amongst how poor we were that the fitness levels were shot after 15minutes at the end was on about 'done a good job' 'deserves respect' their pity for this bloke blinds them and if he wasn't so pitiful he'd hate being defended like an incapable hopeless case, like being patted on the back and given a medal for coming last at sports day. But being thick and truly hopeless Bruce laps all that up.

Bruce had one more game in the Premier League than Rafa had right? One inherited a team in disarray and in the relegation zone and with miniscule backing left them midtable looking upwards The other inherited a team in midtable and with reasonable backing left them in the relegation zone in total disarray. So rests Rafa v Bruce 2016-2021
-
Roeder was instantly more attacking and a big improvement on his predecesssor. His predecessor was Souness though so could easily have generally been very negative and disorganised.
-
Yes Steven, you just listen to the man that ruined Liverpool and Newcastle and managed the unprecedented double of failing at both Galatasaray and Benfica, with his football knowledge
-
a paid journalist covering NUFC thinks someone played for us who never did, sums up Edwards perfectly- actually, wouldn't be surprised if Bruce thinks he did.
-
"Bruce's tenure of the club he once played for was always doomed, but he should depart with a thank-you" Bruce played for us?!!?
-
When the next manager asks for an end product, he'll break. Anyway obviously glad he's gone, had to, wonder if the media can cite a case where a manager hasn't won any of their first 9 largely promosing games of a season, behaved unprofessionally in press-conferences, had the fitness levels of players noticably low and team morale shot not getting the push, for context? Slight concern we've had to haggle him down mind, but no doubt will be assuaged on that score here. Not taking every single penny is actually better than I gave him credit for, absolute bare minimum but still better than I expected.

Hate that inference that it must be sound because we're the only ones that voted against it from that sky prick How many clubs would have voted against Abramovich and Man City given the chance? 19 probably. "Treason doth ne'er prosper, what's the reason, for if all prosper, none dare call it treason" Its an absolute disgrace, makes a mockery of sport and business but because it suits them, that's fine. Maybe 18 clubs can go after Chelsea and Man City next, I mean why not? if we all agree on a way to stuff them up its sound right. "That bloke that qualified for the 100m final with record times can begrudingly participate in the final but isn't allowed to run as fast as the medal posistions"
-
They've categorically stated it "isn't a knee jerk reaction to the Newcastle takeover", I'm happy to take their vested interest word for it and put this all down as the biggest coincidence of all time.
-
Just organised crime, which is basically what this is.
-
I think that helps explain how I feel about the Pardew v Bruce debate. Pardew at least has an anti-hero face turn in him and charisma. Would get the right kind of heat. Bruce only gets the 'you can't wrestle' heat
-
Bruce's fault for not finding the mole

There was a lovely picture of Brady's daughter in the papers recently sunning herself in Arab sunshine, showing off all the bling. Not a f**k given about human rights when it came to posing for instagram or getting some sun on her arse.
-
If this had happened a few months earlier, Rafa would probably be the manager now and advising them what needs done to build a football infrastructure. I wonder what infrastructural advice Bruce's 20years in management and 40years in football have brought to bear.
-
The anti-competition lawyers on a retainer?
-
The whole top and bottom of it.
-
You're right. He hasn't won a game all season, the football is rancid, he's got an awful win rate and won nothing in 20years and he's defended more than any other manager we've had. Its hard to know how bad he'd have to be to be criticised, I doubt relegation again would do it. Rafa inherited a team in the relegation zone and left them in midtable, Bruce inherited a midtable side and has them in the relegation zone. Couldn't be more stark really, but they'll find some factoid to paper over that.
-
What were most worried about is not the situation right now but what is forthcoming. If we don't get something at Palace, were losing to Chelsea and the 3point gap will be extended with harder games than we've had. Then patience will have to go, so why wait. I think were between time being on the regime's side and our nervousness at this moment by one game.
-
It really is. I know they're new and have the benefit of the doubt but I didn't envisage any takeover by anyone that wouldn't have made that move by now, thinking the only bloke that wouldn't make that move would be Ashley of account on not caring. £8m is way beyond what he deserves but we couldn't buy a player for twice that, that would have anywhere near the positive effect that getting rid of Bruce would.
-
I know, I don't think we can even approach someone in work without sacking Bruce first. Resigned to him being here for Palace and Chelsea is a write off whether he is or isn't. That'll be over a quarter of the season gone.
-
Just four more sleeps until his next chance to embarrass the club in the next presser. Couldn't wait to stick it up the critics he said, like with his little song at the mackems. he's as s*it at vengeance as managing - perhaps because both involve a degree of planning and some effort.
