Its just the most awkward time because of our position. it being mid-season the managers that were the top choices (Rafa, Poch) newly in good jobs and their not really having to settle for second best gives them so many options. Its a real conundrum.

"Amanda's coming, quick look busy" - Steve to the Steve's

Following on from that... When thousands of Newcastle fans willingly stayed behind for nearly an hour after beating Blackburn in the cup at Ewood, chanting "walking in a Keegan wonderland" continuously behind the Sky box. As a sort of "sorry for ever doubting you" to Keegan. Richard Keys (hard-lines by the way) ended the show with "we have to go, or these boys aren't going home tonight". *let out an orgasmic yelp when Clarky pulled the trigger for the winner too.

"We were two divisions behind bigger than them until they got taken over"

They're intermating that if we don't sign Mbappe anytime soon, challenge Man City in the next 5years or win something its somehow a victory for them. Unless they're crying and lying to themselves as they type this stuff, its an incredible example of positive mental attitude is one way of looking at it.
-
Since it comes down to attitude. Shelvey will be the first to give up. Though I do feel most of the rest will have the right attitude about it even if they've no chance (Krafth) of making the grade. All the younger players that were in a struggling 2nd division team under Ossie, held their own under Keegan when called upon - even in the PL against far better opponents Watson, Clark, Elliott, Pav, Howey, Nielsen held their own or improved - its possible for a fair few to step up. Its all down hill from here if they don't but a world of difference from the pervasive vibe at the club since Bruce arrived in mentality.

Solidfying his legacy on the way out as the most pitiful and hated manager in our history. Really unusual for a manager to get slaughtered by fans for being s**t like isn't it? Some players get actual racist abuse ffs for nowt. He did cosy up against everyone's advisement to the hated Ashley - a scenario not present at Sheffield Wed, Sunderland and Villa - where he was also hated. Name is and deserves to be mud in these parts now.

Russian World Cup 2018 "Its coming home" , Newcastle takeover "human rights", Qatar World Cup 2022 "its coming home" (Not just them mind)
-
Should be especially fewming at that. That was the world cup that was finally going to put sunderland on the map, like all those places in Japan and South Korea nobody can remember, Ogdenville and North Haverbrook.
-
Yes. Its come to my attention from their fans recently that Man City got a lot more stick than I was aware about human rights, oil money and so on. It had previously seemed to me that it was pretty much universal praised their investment in the local area, around the academy etc. Its the same money from the same source but is seemingly okay going back into the community and not going into the first team side of things to critics. If we'd been the first in any walk of life to shun investment like this I'm not sure anybody outside of us would have cared about the misery that would have been in its stead or heaped praise on us for our moral stance, most would continue slaughtering the area and ripping the p**s re Ashley. Really assuages me that.

I think it actually was Allegri then, was it Icardi let slip that he was lined up by him too, someone did. If that's a window into their thinking, bodes well. I used to say on the old forum and to people generally that I'd give Pardew a chance with money/without Ashley. Yeah I definitely retract that concept now the time has come. He's proved himself since just fine.

My favourite player as a kid Roberto Mancini, maybe some time in the future. Thought we'd go the Jones route given the situation - need to get out of danger and a fancy manager might not be sensible at this time
-
Yes, I've often said we'd have been better off if he hadn't "saved" us in 2007. Worst case scenario is we'd have gone down (never looked likely until Ashley) and come back up but without him for the next 13years and have been better off
-
I don't believe it. Always ruled out the mackem/Ashley fantasy because they don't make money - money being the only reason he was here, stayed here and was at Rangers.
-
If where being fantastical - an extension to the Gallowgate mirroring the Leazes with with an arc that takes it higher, in a homage to the Tyne Bridge behind it lit green (also a nod to the 80%). and maybe a bridge of spies type exchange of Charnley, Ameobi, Moncur etc. for Keegan, Jonas, Hughton etc.

When I watched Barcelona v PSG in 95 and thought "I like the look of this Ginola, what style" then a few month later he was in the European team of the year and signing for us.
-
How is the game where he dragged his Sheffield United team off the pitch after Arsenal scored a dodgy goal and had the game called off factored into this?
-
Its a shame to waste £8million on him though. Gonna have to though as I wouldn't even trust him to be good or professional enough to take the Junior Magpies as a token job
-
Worth remembering at this point how much Edwards has hated Staveley since day one in 2017 and slagged her off repeatedly. Squirm c**t
-
It was a hoot when it called off, the stupid mags are f*cked Its a hoot now its gone through, the stupid mags are f*cked seen one say "we had more topflight points than them until 1997" basically admitting were historically better than them and have been for quarter of a century but still claiming it as a victory somehow. (13year head start too- or handicap) I think its all the constant losing and being second fiddle to us that's done fried their brains and they simply cannot compute anymore of it. "Springfield has a discipline problem, i guess that's why we beat them at football nearly half the time!"-esque
-
When I think back my problem with Man City was that it meant the money was going to get even more ridiculous rather than the human rights record, which was a given for any group from the middle east, goes without saying, maybe bit of the discomfort wsa to do with that but never once have I accused Man City fans of anything political. Saudi and UAE had played in world cups and nobody batted an eyelid. I think it reasonable that I should apply that to my own club and arguably when it comes down to for football fans is how it effects the game, which isn't good. The political side of it is always there for those that are more into that more.
-
So true. It used to be that way. Nobody took pleasure from what happened at Brighton and Aldershot in the 90s. That's pretty much what 606 used to be about - now its 50year old d*ckheads playing games. Bad ownership has always made me uncomfortable probably having come up through McKeag and co but it seems its a laughing matter to a lot of the fans and people in football since the millennium. The only people I'd wish Ashley on are the people that have the theory he did nothing wrong and enjoyed what happened to us.
-
Such an infantile point. Were considerably bigger than all of those clubs so of course our suffering will be different and relative. Hartlepool, Darlington, Scarborough and York would envy those teams. I feel for all of them and if we were their size under Ashley we'd have had the same experience and had the same blind-eye from the media and PL that we had anyway. We were deliberately held back by the owner for his benefit, not just stupidly ran like all of those with the exception of Blackpool. Not many clubs get 50k regularly in the second tier because a club that gets 50k regularly in the second tier shouldn't be in the second tier. By the same token nobody in Britain can complain about anything compared to suffering elsewhere in the world, though I bet Nick does umpteen times today alone.
-
We need to be thinking who would definitely get us out of relegation. That's the tricky bit because something elaborate may be an own-goal to that end you're absolutely right for me, leaving it at getting rid of Bruce is the best move I can see right now. Redknapp until the end of the season been mentioned?

Thought about doing the same its that bad. They'd better climb down from that. Please make it happen social media people.
