  1. People's calmness at the situation makes me more panicy than the panic. Were second bottom, playing terrible going into November. The only thing that's different about our situation to anybody else, including us, that's ever been in this situation and been duly concerned is the laurel of a takeover. Which wont effect the playing stuff for at least a couple more months and nobody knows to what extent. The only way it doesn't get worse is via a new manager.
  2. Newcastle fan suggesting Bruce as a replacement for Nuno, citing all the reasons that were given for why he should stay with us, was branded as 'sarcastic' on talksport. *amidst a stream of Nuno out, time's up, got to go comments without any suggestion its unreasonable. 10games.

Heard their keeper describe QPR and Loftus Road thus "to come to places like this, that are big clubs" ?! He continued to damn by faint praise "the only other time the atmosphere was like this was Wembley and the play-offs" - its a wonder how 2nd bottom Charlton penetrated fortress Estadio Da Luz

Every time these get beat in that league they kick off. All that heat with Portsmouth, bother last week against Charlton, bother with Fleetwood/Barton, heated rivalry with Coventry bother a few years ago, behaving like pigs in London, bother with Lincoln, hoying coins at Rotherham. Cue some article about how great they are to eternal-sunshine-of-the-spotless mind this weeks scummery 5-1 at Rotherham in divsion 3, f*cks sake, new low for the north-east, thanks a bunch sc*mc*nts
  5. "None Newcastle fans don't like manager and boo team off shocker"
  6. We wont beat Brighton, will be lucky to rob a draw without a new manager. Then we really have to beat Brentford, easier said than done, pressure on us. New manager by Brighton 6.5, no new manager for Brighton 7.5, no new manager within days of Brighton 8.5
  7. Chelsea were better a few years ago, post, bar, and we fluked a win. Same lifting performance from us but the luck has ran out. As we all said it would.
  8. Terry Venables had Bryan Robson in as a coach. Think he's the only manager with a worse PL record than Bruce. So that stands for me. Its almost like a foil more than anything else.
  9. Absolutely. Its the most basic plan someone can think of every time. Men behind the ball and hope. Same against Palace. Its the sort of tactics people trying to blag by would come up with, scrape by tactics. Remember a game we lost to Chelsea under Roeder, he kept it tight with the intent of going for it in the last 25' which we did, could see the work that went into it. Was expecting more that from Jones than just carring on Bruce's echo
  10. And this too. No change at all. Like Carver replacing Pardew. When Roeder was promoted from within it was from the youth team and was effecitvely a new voice, new ideas, new start. This is just d1cking around.
  11. Absolutely right mate. Otherwise Brentford becomes the new Brighton/experiment and that's two games down to bog we can't afford to flush.

That was two games from the end when we were already behind, so it wasn't that.

Asprilla - no absoluitely not for me. Just did an article on the Mag that mentioned this yesterday actually. Man of the match against West Ham (goal and two beautiful assists), goal and assist at Liverpool, superb assist v Spurs, goal and beautiful assist at Man City, wins the game for us at Boro. Not bad for 3months work. The gap was 1pt after we battered Man United - this was Tino's first home game so he can't have been responsible for the 12pt lead falling (especially considering he got us 4points at Boro and Man City). Hate to say it but - Ferdinand, Ginola and Lee all massively went off the boil. Whilst Gillespie's injury was cited at the time imbalancing the side.
  14. If we knew or they said they'd have a new manager by Brighton or just after I doubt anybody would be overly concerned. Its the vaccum really that's causing this I reckon. The not knowing where we stand in terms of trajectory or organisationally. There's still a tendency, I do it, to go back to the Dogs of War vibe for a club to get out of trouble, though its probably not the case in modern football Martinez feels like the total opposite of that. The things he's known for, his plusses will not be achievable with these players and in the situation were in, in this time frame. Don't see any point at all in him until the end of the season.
  15. He'll have to role his sleeves up
  16. We took our time appointing a new manager in the midst of relegation battles in 88/89 08/09 15/16. Proved fatal. I get the lack of panic when literally two wins would change the complexion entirely but also fully get the encroaching concern, which if anything is more logical. If we get beat by Brighton it would be wrong not to be concerned surely.
  17. Sounds like the start of a happy endings massage
  18. St James Park that gave Bruce stick in one game, his last and a few boos from a 10% capacity at the end of Sheffield United last season? Barbaric that like. Never happens anywhere. Yet at the same time happens absolutely everywhere. These people's soft spots are about as based in reality as their losing their apparent soft spot is - managers here and everywhere else doing bad jobs get hammered. Even Hughton got the 'you don't know what your doing' chant. Squeeky wheels gets the grease I guess. Supports West Ham doesn't he? Remember the infinitely worse abuse they gave Roeder? stone throwing (is a Hammer afterall) glass house dwelling c**t
  19. Don't think any would be clambering to put their name to the Chelsea game anyway, so definitely worth signing off from this if its bothersome until after that's out the way. I definitely don't want to go into Brighton half-cocked even if just for the time thereafter before the next game cos the games after that are vital for results and were not getting a new team in January. I'll be joining the panic-mongers at that point.
  20. Aye, and thats basically the cause of all of this, the sudden nature of it and in mid-season. Think they just had to jump at it before Ashley could play silly buggers again and re-plan everything from where we are now.
  21. There's a vaccum I wasn't expecting that's causing some people a bit of anxiety. We effectively still don't know what their plans are beyond a few interviews when the takeover went through and I guess the managerial appointment is the first sign of that. Was expecting training ground plans, stadium plans or just some presser about their plans which would sooth this situation. but then if it was someone out of work it shouldn't take this long, certainly indicates there's no slam dunk of the unemployed managers because surely that'd be sorted by now and yet your right it would come out if we were approaching clubs.

Shame only finals will suffice for most of them. Anywhere else would be a bit excited being one game away from a semi-final but these only half fill their stadium for small fry like that don't they.
  24. Had a few pieces published on the Mag website, just about to hoy a couple more in this week. Running out of ideas but could try and contribute if every little helps.
  25. Its a great point. Same goes for any players or managers at any point really. When you hear players preferring London and the anonymity of it, they're not right for Man United, Liverpool or us. Players that dig the pros and cons of having a passioante crowd have revelled here. Keegan epitomised it and made a point to get the right players in with that in mind.
