Would it be fair to say that the analysis of Schär and Botman doesn't need to go any further than 'do your job'? Their handling of Watkins was unbelievably bad. Literally any ball over the top and it was his. That's unacceptable
-
Wish I could watch all of these at once
-
If he'd got it spot on, our players were still nowhere near where they needed to be. It's hard to know what the best way to approach this was even in hindsight

Brighton shitting all over Chelsea
-
Totally pointless scapegoat if that's what this is
-
All being right in the world as a football purist, 3rd to 6th should be a combo of us, Brighton, and Villa tbh.
-
Yep. See also ASM not putting in an 8/10+ performance
-
Yeah, I nearly mentioned how bad the officials were in my review like, but it's pointless really. The ref could have been Michael Oliver and we'd have still been beaten. No complaints really, we lost in every area.

Old yeller time now. Targett's time to shine.

It's difficult to pinpoint anything because if one thing had been okay, something else would have undone it. Howe lost the tactical battle Villa's players were on it Our players performed terribly, especially Schär and Botman Take away even 2 out of those 3 and we still possibly lose.
-
Brighton away was the 5-0 vs Man United compared to this.

Humbled. Forget the scoreline, that was the worst performance of the season. A game where shocking performances were exacerbated by Villa players being on it, and Emery pulling Howe's pants down tactically. Not necessarily a criticism of Howe because our players were truly terrible and Emery's had much bigger scalps than Howe, but it was truly a triple threat of total shit. Watkins played very well but there were far too many speculative balls that ended up being laser-guided passes to him. Schär and Botman should be ashamed. Bear in mind here that I know how bad Burn was, and with that in mind, this is how bad I think Schär and Botman were. Pope: 6.5 Trippier: 4 Schär: 3 Botman: 3 Burn: 3 Bruno: 5 Joelinton: 5 Willock: 6 Murphy: 5 Isak: 5 Gordon: 4 I would have taken 5 points from these 3 away games so you take it on the chin when you've ended up with 6. I can take the scoreline, but the performance was unacceptable and as amazing as we've been this season, you have to be honest about that. It could and should have been a thrashing, similar to our thrashing of Man United. You could make the argument that Emery has set the blueprint on how to beat us and that Eddie will take this as a valuable learning experience.

Botman and Schär have been unbelievably pathetic today like. You have to just be honest about it.

Forget the players man, they're decent, but it's all about Emery. Their midfield isn't better player for player than ours, but Emery has made it so that they are, he's a very good manager.
-
It seems like our players are surprised when opposition players are playing differently against them than usual. We're a good team now and good teams like Villa are going to be hip to our groove. Emery absolutely has our number, he knows what he's doing against teams far better than ours, so we need to wise up, be sharper to it, and step it up. That being said, it's tactical changes that are most needed here so it'll be interesting to see what Howe and Tindall do, and how Emery counters our moves. The positive from that half is that it's only 1-0 and that they're maybe a little bit too pleased with themselves. The negatives are obviously that it could have been 2 or 3 and that even when we improved, their chances were much more obvious and dangerous than ours. Big changes needed, but more tactical than anything imo. The game is still there for us to take.

Hope really is a hack a lot of the time like. There's literally nothing in that article that even hints that Howe was talking about Declan Rice. He's pulled the entire thing from his arse.

Sounds class tbf. The only change I'd make to the current kit (castore and sponsor aside) is inverting the collar and cuff colours, so it sounds good.

I really didn't suggest anything of the sort like , just that regardless of their price, the replacements for their injuries are poor and that they'll have to earn top 4 rather than cruise to it now. -

If they finish top 4 now they'll have definitely earned it. Those injuries are killer and we know how average/bad the replacements are. You'd still think that their fixtures are easy, but the teams fighting relegation will smell blood like, especially at home. -
Can you say if you like the home kit? Whether you think most people will like it?
