If the reports are true about Mitchell's dealings with Burnley, it can't be a separate issue. Your DoF being a cunt that pisses off their own club, its staff, its players, other clubs and agents is obviously going to have some impact.

All that's fine if that's your view, but if we're talking about Mitchell and whether his actions left us in a better, worse, or neutral position, I'd say it's pretty clearly worse, regardless.

It also came from the NE journos tbf. Likewise the stuff about him pissing off Burnley, along with all of the other stuff we've heard about the way he went on behind the scenes, and the stuff we saw him do first-hand. I appreciate that it's in the club's interests to scapegoat Mitchell now, but the amount of smoke around him even when he was here never mind since he's left is pretty overwhelming imo.

You don't believe the stuff about his refusal to honour Isak's promised new contract or his reported dealings with Burnley then?

The Pickford save was a really good reaction save but tbf it was also nearly right at him.

I'm a big fan of his, but any time that I see him in the starting lineup without someone else playing up front and I'm not optimistic. I think he'll get there though. Gordon’s gone from universal "he's not a striker" to being quite effective, so there's no reason Howe can't work his magic before 26/27.

I made my mind up about Ramsdale way before he joined us and it wasn't because I didn't watch enough of him. I've seen nothing to change my mind since he joined, he still isn't a good goalkeeper.

Once again though, why it's his team is not only being overlooked, but he's taking all the flack for it. This team is what he managed to put together having been thrown into a DoF role in the summer, when he shouldn't have, and bailing us out in the process. With some people Howe would have been much better off throwing his hands up and saying it's not his job.

Well that's fine but it's a very different point to the one VR was originally making about us only winning matches we're expected to. Did we both win matches we were expected to and put in top performances against top clubs? I'd say we did for the most part. Today was our worst performance since Brentford, which was only 3 weeks ago, but crucially imo it was also 6 games ago. Ridiculous schedule.

We had them all over at 11 v 11 tbf, but if that's your perspective fair enough.
