That it's a 'yes, and...' not an either/or situation. Needing technical players doesn't necessarily mean needing to lose Tonali, it can mean that we need that player regardless, and each match the line up is horses for courses.

Retro training gear is all the black and white 96/97 stuff as well, though weirdly doesn't include the blue one that Shearer wore when we signed him. Can only guess that one's being held back for a different range.

I spent most of his time here not rating him, but he definitely seemed to improve with age and would always put in a good shift when called upon by Howe. PSG at home was obviously his finest hour and I imagine he'll remember him and Schär absolutely bossing Mbappe and Dembele forever.

Anyone that was glued to the transfer window in the summer knows that basically everyone reported that our first choice was Mbeumo but that it was clear he'd chosen Man United. You can argue that it was unrealistic or that the alternatives weren't up to scratch, which I think is fair, but saying that Elanga and Thiaw were our number one targets for those positions doesn't stack up.

When both were available, Mbeumo was the choice. I don't think it's even debatable.
