  1. The amigos man. It hurts me eyes to see grown men attention seeking so much. That pork cyclinder of a dentist is the worst of the lot - utter braggard.
  2. Any legal eagles know anything about CAT proceedings? For example should the judge decide that there is a case to answer here could the premier league settle with NUFC to avoid a public, potentially embarrassing, hearing?
  3. I think he was their first choice but just couldn’t turn down a project that’s right on his doorstep. Already sounds like Everton fans are giving him grief though - the fools. Don’t think this is any indicator of the takeover one way or the other.
  4. Right club in many ways but the fans won’t forgive his success at Liverpool. I’m a bit gutted we couldn’t get this takeover over the line in time to offer him a chance to return. Never say never though - he may back one day.
  5. I don’t think Rafa going to another club is in anyway an indicator of anything. As we’ve seen, it’s been close before only for the league to start playing silly beggars under pressure from BeIn et al. He’d be daft not speak to Everton - taking his history with Liverpool out of the equation it fits most of his widely known criteria for a “project”. I’d love for him to come back, I’m sure the consortium would too - it’s a very easy early win for them - but sometimes the timing is never quite right and he can’t be expected to hold out in perpetuity can he?
  6. He comes across as someone who takes his reputation and the recognition of his abilities very seriously. He’s far too self aware for these shots and the excitement they generate in some sections of our support, to be doing it all accidentally. The cans and the dropped barrier are obvious nods to the takeover process. What’s important to remember though is that it’s very very one sided the noise that we are hearing, the premier league may be just as confident.
  7. I’m doing my utmost to strap my boner down but there’s always the nagging noises of “why’s it not already happened yet?” in the back of my mind. If the jungle drums beat true then Ashley and the consortium believe the premier league has been backed into a corner - if this was true surely the league would have been advised of this by their legal team and would just rubber stamp it to avoid a messy and potentially embarrassing few weeks in court. I dunno. I really really want to believe this new positive noise but well, we’ve been here before haven’t we?
  8. Fair play, cheers for clearing that up. At this point I’m clinging to anything that seems ever so slightly positive. Firmly of the opinion that the league will come out on top though, we’re Newcastle, we aren’t allowed to have something nice!?
  9. I’m sure I read somewhere that the premier league wanted access to a key piece of evidence that NUFC submitted as part of the CAT case but were denied by the judge. I believe it was in the same request for an extension. Funny how they’ve wanted some transparency.
  10. Idiot boomers at pubs and idiot boomers at pubs on twitter. Is “boomer” the right on version of “snowflake”? I’ve lost track of what’s cool anymore. . .
  11. I do think fucking him off as soon as the takeover is complete is a bit shit tbh.
  12. I’ve actually been won over by Bruce in this takeover period. He’s shown a lot of class and I do believe he’s being genuine when he says he wants what’s best for the club. He hasn’t made a terrible account of himself either this year. Am I naive enough to he’ll do a top job with a load of money? No. Do I think we should at least give him a fair crack of the whip? Absolutely. He’s earned it for me.
  13. Actually quite good to see the media move behind giving the league a kick up the arse for the way they’ve treated us as fans. They’ve come out of this looking absolutely weak as piss. BeIN shouldn’t have had half the say and influence they have done and these tests have been wrongly used as moral rather than financial checks. I think the premier league have boxed themselves into a corner with this decision. They’ve huge political pressure to deny the saudis but I think they know that Ashley/PIF will rinse them in court should they bow to said pressure.
  14. Me personally, I think the prem are going to shit themselves and bow to pressure from other clubs in the league not to allow it. It's a nice closed shop up at the top and the other traditional big boys don't want someone else eating at the top table at their expense.
  15. Do you think it’s possible to bottle up Richard Keys utter dismay for future use? His head has well and truly fallen off here and it’s glorious to see. Clearly hates us, clearly knows this is a game changer for the entire premier league and it’s causing him immense pain and anguish. Mint.
  16. That sound we can all hear is the the premier league old boys association circling the wagons. There’s no hard and firm rules in place to block this deal so they’ll look to put pressure on the government to veto it somehow. Ffs - why can we never have anything nice?
  17. Amazed at how "right on" some have to be. To the point where they are even self-flagellating themselves over Ashley's imminent departure.
  18. The same folk asking for the fans not to be dragged into the politics of Saudi Arabia are now angry because the Reubens are Tories. It’s not an a la carte menu folks? Just keep politics out of the whole thing eh?
  19. Cancel the games, keep everyone safe and start from scratch next year with no relegations/champions etc. If Liverpool don't like it - tough shit - peoples lives are more important.
  20. No way it will take another ten days. My bet is friday we'll hear something.
  21. Some updates to companies house. Some bloke who works for the PIF appointed to NCUK. It’s happening chaps. It’s fucking happening.
  22. Ironically, having owners who will invest in the club, the buildings and the city will bring back the noise, the pride and the passion IMO. It's been the exact opposite when we've been run like a cold hard business. Like Man City? How was the atmosphere at City before they started winning stuff? I don't remember it being that great tbh, plenty of them were converting to Man U as their favourite club. Nah, they were pretty loyal but were the self proclaimed ‘best fans in the world’. There used to several attendance arguments with usas they had the nerve to sing ‘where were you when you were s***’ at us at St James’. They had good attendances in lower league football for sure. They were decent fans. I think the same thing that happened to them will happen to us. It’s a fatigue really more than anything. Yeah they had decent crowds when they were where the mackems are now. They are just normal arrogant Mancs in the hear then before you see them Noel Gallagher mould and mouthed off too much. Maine Road was a good old ground, bloody nightmare to get in and out of though. Don't agree with this at all. The long time city fans are, for the most part, decent lads who share a very similiar outlook to us toon fans. They've found themselves in a very fortunate position that, fingers crossed, we may find ourselves in. Ask the clued up amongst them and I'm sure they'll tell you the best time for them was in the old second division with players like Sean Wright Phillips and Jon Macken - I'm sure in ten years time we'll be telling anyone who listens about going down with Rafa Benitez and that amazing season in the Championship.....
  23. The same journos throwing out angry half baked ideas on the toon fans not being arsed about Saudi geopolitics are all the same ones taking Ubers all over London happy in the knowledge that PIF own a 5% share. Hypocrisy - good to see it’s alive and well.
