  1. Irrelevance is his greatest fear. Ignore the fuckwit.
  2. I know it’s pedantic but why put “10 percent of every euro above a €70m transfer fee…” as opposed to what? 10% of every second Euro, i.e. 5% of profit?
  3. Play up whose y-fronts? Is this another underhand tactic by other club’s player acquisition teams?
  4. There’s appearing in films that don’t work, then there’s pulling a cunt’s trick. The former shouldn’t lead to not being able to look at yourself in the mirror, the latter, assuming presence of a moral conscience/good values, could lead to exactly that. I think Alex is a good man, young and more naive than he thinks he is (as all of us are at 25), but good nonetheless. He is going to want to reflect on and celebrate every chapter of his life and career. Hope, for all concerned, this doesn’t play out in a way that makes it hard for him to do so.
  5. Good luck to the lad. Hope Ramsdale takes the second keeper slot for the World Cup.
  6. Quotes from him suggest he thinks he has a chance of playing; seems unlikely to me. Hope he doesn’t feel duped.
  7. Enjoy the stage your baby is at; if very young get yourself/him/her a helium balloon and a peacock feather. Balloon good for perceptual motor skills (tie to ankle good fun for very young babies to learn cause and effect and learn to kick—pension plan!). Put peacock feather under your armpit when changing nappies your little one will love watching it. Marvel in their enjoyment. Oh! And buy it a rugby top or any other sport to protect from the lifetime of ‘blessings’ that come from supporting this shit show.
  8. Watch this. Can head a ball (ahem…), can ping an accurate long pass, good reaction times. A lot to like.
  9. Prone to a regular howler.
  10. It’s a double yes from me, Clive. Admittedly based on nowt but wishful thinking.
  11. Glad there is two for joy.
  12. But other than that are you open to the idea?
  13. Am I really the only person here who would be happy to sign Ramsdale?
  14. Nice stat. Makes me more optimistic that any reasonable quality forward can do what we need in that position.
  15. Don’t think we have changed. We’ve probably just got a bit more cash to flash at the moment. We’re evidently looking (and bidding) and have quietly signed multiple young prospects from overseas in the last 12 months (e.g. Seung-Soo Park, Kyle Fitzgerald, Vahktang Salia, Miodrag Pivas etc.). It just isn’t easy finding cheap(er) options for the first team. There is no much data available now everybody is aware of who to watch.
  16. Bruno, Tonali, Botman, Trippier (ish), plus many failed attempts. It might be the 100% shopping in England point is lazy and patently not true rather than Howe being above criticism.
  17. World Cup coming, think Watkins is at his peak and the way he played against us shows why he could/should be first choice for England. He could have a phenomenal season.
  18. Ok, it’ll all be alright in the end. Players come and go, NUFC in all of its guises remains. We’ll have two strikers (maybe, or maybe not, both new) to start the season. We will have moments of pleasure, even delight, to look forward to. We’ll face adversity but nothing we haven’t coped with in the past and undoubtedly, however it pans out, it’ll be nowhere near the same level as we have endured and has already drifted into the (usually) forgotten past.
  19. He is, as ever, just being realistic. I wouldn’t read too much into such comments. (Impossible as that seems at the moment).
  20. Deserving or not, and let’s face it, we don’t know the full details, fact is he will/could get all the love he has had and more. We are a forgiving bunch—fans in general not just ‘us’—a well worded heart-felt interview a performance which shows he is working his bollocks off, a goal or an assist or a mazy Evertonesque run. Even the most hurt of us would welcome him back with open arms. It’s hard sitting with the uncertainty, the sense of rejection and betrayal seeming to ‘down tools’ triggers, but we can and will do it. If the outcome is right.
  21. What’s the movie? (Need an escape from football).
  22. All those things matter to some extent, dependent upon the individual player. At least I dearly hope they do. Of course financial benefits, expected quality of life/environment, prestige of the club, and chance of winning things (these last two don’t necessary go hand in hand) are going to be primary criteria. Even the most committed, emotional, and loyal players need to first build a bond with a new club for that to counterbalance the other stuff. Bruno would not have come without the significant financial benefits for him of doing so.
