Sort of seems like a short term Chris Wood type move. Looks like he could be available for more games than Wilson likely would and he’ll score goals if given chances, add to the threat from corners etc.. but he’d be shipped off as soon as we had a chance to upgrade properly.. which I have no issue with. Would they really sell for 25m though, I think it’s a fair price but if roles were reversed perhaps not.
-
He’s not on massive money. The info I had all along was that the club were happy to keep him gardening. Now we know why. If he’d acted properly and in good faith maybe this mess would have been sorted long ago.

How many points did we drop this season because of Dubs being dodgy?
-
When we play out from the back this weakness sort of gets skipped over. But this season when teams have pressed us, he’s had to go long and you can just never be confident. I’m sure the stats can be found but I wouldn’t be shocked if 90% if his long kicks resulted in losing possession. That’s a huge issue to sort.
-
I don’t think this gets sorted. Ratface just won’t after his comments let it be seen as another club getting one over on him. They’ll just move on and Ashworth will be left holding a steaming bag of shit with his reputation in tatters. He’s gone from being “the guru” to being the butt of shit jokes on Talksport. He’ll sue Man Utd because he’s a weasel like that. And nobody else here will be willing to give him a job straight away, too toxic. He’ll get off to the MLS to lay low for a while. 2/3 years and then return at a Brighton level club again when the smoke has cleared.

Because he can’t kick a ball properly.

No he’s definitely proven his worth. Thought very highly of by all who are currently at the club, whether he can step up to a Sporting Director role remains to be seen. Moving capable employees into roles to suit a businesses interest doesn’t always work out in the long term and if it doesn’t, almost always impossible to step back into the previous role without taking reputations damage.

Unless Bowen has split up with his missus I just can’t see him leaving West Ham.

I’ve nothing against the lad, always came across a decent sort in interviews. Whatever happened with Howe there was only going to be one outcome and maybe just a pinch of payback for Bournemouth at the first opportunity. I think he easily could have contributed this season, especially with the injuries we had. Still a very decent player.

If the employer (NUFC) placed the employee on gardening leave based on the verbal intention to resign, without a formal resignation letter, it could be seen as the employer taking preemptive action. However, this does not necessarily equate to termination. The key point is whether the employee’s intention to resign was clear and acknowledged by both parties. The contract terms will play a crucial role. If the contract stipulates that gardening leave can be initiated upon verbal notice of resignation, then the employer’s action may be justified. Conversely, if the contract requires a written resignation, the employer’s initiation of gardening leave without this could be challenged. The employee might argue they were effectively dismissed, especially if they did not formally resign in writing if was required by the contract. However, as they are still receiving their salary and benefits, it technically does not constitute firing.

"In a closed society where everybody's guilty, the only crime is getting caught. In a world of thieves, the only final sin is stupidity." Hunter S Thompson knew.

I’m starting to think the opposite way about Lee Charnley, his fault seems to be that he’s like a civil servant, job for life.. don’t take risks etc.. but he effectively ran a massive football club on fumes. Give the lad a bit of ambition and I’d say he’s a far more savvy operator than Dan Ashworth (at what he does) which was financial controller.
-
Mental, anyone who knows anything about football could see he’d turned that shit show into something that could work and has been working for the last few months I would have had them down as a contender for the top 4 based on the form book going into next season. Poch has impressed me.. they were so disjointed, like really one of the jobs of the season imho.. and they bin him. Madness.

It’s not. All email on a work account is property of the company and they can access it at any point in time if they wish.. (spelled out clearly on even boiler plate contracts) What I’d say he was doing was BCC’ing things he wanted to keep to one of his own personal email addresses but got a bit trigger happy to send quickly. Maybe in a rush to attend a meeting or something and clicked what he thought was his personal address but his nufc instead. A dimwitted move but just shows he’s a very untrustworthy person. His reputation will be in tatters now as someone a club can trust to drive things forward.
-
Wouldn’t surprise me if there was legal action against him being lined up but that a warrant to search his electronic communication devices has been issued and they’ve already gone through his personal emails. If the club leaked this now, you can bet there’s a reason for it.
-
Seems quite obvious now that he’s an idiot but clever enough to phrase his job description dumb enough so that football people get it. That whole centre of the wheel rubbish is just a way of saying he takes credit for other people’s work. Total weasel and his reputation is in tatters. I don’t even care about the compo at this point, he’s not going to improve Man Utd. He’ll just be privy to information that could damage us if others know our plans.. which he’s probably disclosed already.
-
Am I right in thinking Bayern sacked Tuchel, or said he’d be leaving, only to re-offer him the job which he then turned down?
-
Minteh is a weird one.. potential high value sale for someone we’ve never seen play for us. Based on his season, you’d have to say he’d be worth 20m+?
-
Possible re Dubs.. ?♂️ it depends on who needs what. If he chooses to go to Saudi we may get something. Howe publicly freezing him out like that though doesn’t strengthen our position for negotiation.
-
A guide price, Wilson doesn’t leave for less than 10m.. we get something for Dubs..
-
Ritchie out Minteh in Dummett out Tosin in Targett (5m) out Kelly in. Almiron (22m) out ? In Dubravka (4.5m) out ? In Karius out - promote youth Wilson (15m) out ? In I don’t think we need to sell any of the Crown Jewels. But we could potentially bring in 30-40m with those fringe players. That would pay for that Goalkeeper.. am guessing we’ll have a budget similar to last summer.. around 100m? a 40m winger and a 60m striker and we should be good. We’re stacked in midfield. But concerns about Willock.. will he be able to regain fitness?
-
Even if they tripled the fee we paid for him, still wouldn’t come close to what we’d need to spend to find someone remotely as good. He won’t be in a rush to go anywhere, he’s playing in a team that creates for him and we can still do better. Add a better right sided forward and we’re in good shape. I’d keep Murphy but Almiron can go at this stage, purple patch aside he’s largely ineffective.
-
Good shout that.. I had noticed a bit of a step back from the same level of involvement he had previously. Something just seems slightly off. Forget about the errors, any player can hit a patch of bad form.. he just doesn’t seem as happy. I suspect he’s the type of player who would just move on to the next thing fairly easily. Hes a pro and just does what’s best for himself first. He may have really wanted to join Bayern in January?
