  1. Would be fucking class to be shot of them and the shite that comes with being The Best League In The World
  2. Find it hard to believe that anybody ever thought the shameless power grab would just pass by as an essential facet of reforming English football. Like literally the only way to make the rest of their genuine and munificent suggestions work is to also concentrate future decision making power into six clubs at the very top
  3. That would be Penn. Guess he just posted the information on the wrong forum all along
  4. what a fucking shambles. I hope everybody involved in the whole shabby affair is outed and publicly pilloried for it.
  5. They couldn’t find anyone to do it IIRC. they did have two people lined up to do it, first one decided not to take it up after accepting it for whatever reason. Second one had to withdraw after some allegations about his private life ended up in a red top. First one declined because they knew that Saudi Arabia were coming in for Newcastle and couldn't face the grief, imo second one probably leaked the allegations himself when he found out the same thing, preferring to destroy his own private life than be stuck between Saudi Arabia and Liverpool FC, once again The Most Important Team In The Country And Don't You Forget It
  6. I don't know, there's a world of difference between legitimately putting forward a fundamental structure change which appears to be motivated solely by self-interest, and proving that the same sort of thing just went on in the background anyway. I know what you mean but this really proves nothing more than the usual suspects have got some serious delusions of grandeur, which comes as no surprise to any of us.
  7. I guess if enough teams were stupid enough to vote it in under the current arrangements then there's not a lot more can be done. It's not like the objecting clubs can just go and play in a different league (not yet, at least)
  8. Crikey I agree with Stan's original assessment; if the meaning is clear then what's the problem? It's just not the case that if you're not writing in correct and formal English then your point is invalidated. Some people just make mistakes; some people are just lazy; some people genuinely can't do it. If you're getting irritated when people, for whatever reason, don't come up to your own personal level of what constitutes good English, even if their point is perfectly well made and clear, then it's you that has the real issue Anyway, about that 2021 deadline
  9. I'm not sure i want this saga to ever end, I'd miss the thread too much
  10. The Newcastle Online detectives were closing in on him, had to go to ground for a bit
  11. I vote we rename the site wildextrapolationsfromverylimiteddata-online.org
  12. PL have been awfully quiet since NUFC appointed the legal heavyweights about March. fixed
  13. Seconded. Thread is not the same when folk aren't posting about every flight out of Riyadh
  14. That's what I've thought for some time. No evidence whatsoever to support it, just like the thought
  15. Wouldn't it be fair to say that this is not a frivolous purchase but a key part of MBS Vision2030 plan? Are they cutting back on this project too? This keeps getting mentioned but I don't see how it has anything to do with the potential acquisition of NUFC. The main concerns with regards to Vision 2030 are: to diversify the economy away from oil (if this is related to that, there are far better options ROI-wise than buying a football club, especially in the current climate), improve the health sector, improve education, promote tourism (again can't imagine this would be enriched through buying nufc), facilitate more recreation activities and improving infrastructure. Hard to argue that buying the club ties into any of those goals in my humble opinion. You would surely level the same argument at the original purchase which they clearly were interested in, though?
  16. RESET THE POLL And where's Penn when you need a dose of healthy negativity, ffs
  17. I'm backing him to kick on quite a bit this season with less weight on his shoulders. I think this new role for him to support the striker will see him grow in confidence massively, and I'm of the belief that football at a high level is mostly a confidence game. agree with this. Pressure last year would have been intolerable, and it's already off to some extent with a debut goal for Wilson
