From the pov of someone who hasn't seen any of that game as portrayed by proper broadcasters with well-positioned cameras, the pitch side camera perspective is pretty worthless
  4. That's a canny if, unfortunately Like the bloke who used to sit behind me in the Gallowgate always said, if me auntie had bollocks she'd be me uncle

    sunderland

Some time in the last year or two somebody posted a video, I think in this very thread, of a lad with an acoustic guitar who had written a song about sunlun with a chorus that went, "you're shite". Least, I think it was about sunlun. I can only remember the gently delivered chorus Can anybody find it without too much effort on their part? Forum on Android is a bit of a nightmare to navigate and search on

Would give a pass to Any O'Brien just because it's funny (however inappropriate for a team fielding no O'Briens) but in general, absolutely agree

  9. Is it the one on the corner of Rosemary Lane next to the church? Never, ever been in there. Looks canny though
  10. Mike back in New York is genuinely feeling like the final scene in Local Hero can imagine the knackered phone box next to the Mile Castle on Westgate Road starting to ring
  11. There's definitely some degree of truth in the old 'show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser' thing.. but I don't think it extends as far as the fans like and I'm reasonably certain that Howe and the owners and the players aren't just patting each other on the the back and telling each other that it's the taking part that counts

If he's in the line for a free kick, it's hard to argue that he's not interfering with play, though. The only reason to be there is to be trying to get on the end of the cross and/or drawing a defender

There's fuck all need for offside to be as complicated as it is, like

That's what I thought; why was he there if not interfering with play? But like I say, the coach I know reckons that from a free kick if he didn't score he wasn't offside, the end. I have no idea how it works any more

Junior coach at my work says unless it's the player that scored, it's not offside and that's been the rule for a couple of years now. I didn't notice whether the protruding boot belonged to the player who scored the goal
  17. Could not be a more authentic experience, absolutely right
  18. No, they sounded quiet on the telly like, some half hearted glazers out and not a right lot rise. Sounded more us when there was any noise to speak of. Best sound of the day was Dan Burn kicking a microphone for no reason
  19. Looks and almost certainly is short on confidence, doesn't want the grief from the fans if he inadvertently skies it (imo).
