  1. And if I was Barclays' lawyer I would argue that Roan has a vested interest in Staveley winning her case since there's an inference that her not insignificant role in the takeover is predicated on it Nah, I agree with you, I just can't believe that such a senior journalist would do something so stupid. I assume the stream is surrounded by disclaimers to say "no screenshotting, no videos" like they usually are?
  2. Anything visible in a screenshot is unlikely to prejudice the case. First of all it's not a jury situation and secondly there is no real details visible (i.e. you can't see anything more than the people involved and the room they are in). The journalist may be slapped with a contempt charge. No, the prejudice argument would arise from either party arguing that Roan has an agenda and is potentially denying a fair trial with his intervention. I have no idea what he tweeted like, I'm at work
  3. That was a canny witless thing to do like Might get thrown out for prejudice now
  4. Well, I disagree but we'll see if it goes anywhere I watch court proceedings pretty much every day, and a lot of the time the link is still open but people are just talking. Maybe I'm just too used to that sort of thing for it to be a surprise to me.
  5. Don't think that applies when it's being streamed live mind and heard by quite a few people also. Looks like a few are reporting this also to the courts and press, may get interesting. You can go and sit in any court in the country and hear legal teams talking to each other this way on the benches when the judge has gone back to their chambers. Honestly, there's nothing unusual here imo it's the nature of court hearings that one side thinks the other is lying. That's why they're there
  6. Woman from Barclays is entitled to her opinion; if the court wasn't sitting I'm not sure what people expect to complain about I have been called all sorts of things by barristers, and called them similar things back, when the judge isn't there or outside the court
  7. I would have no objections to winning everything by buying success, none at all but I don't think that's what'll happen, and I would be happy being more Leicester than Manchester
  8. I wish there was something else going on in the world so sports reporters didn't feel the need to comment on every bit of inconsequential non-news that comes up
  9. I've never been 100% confident, but I'm not any less confident because it's taking considerably more time than people who are not involved in the process said it should take Ashley's continued silence speaks volumes to me.
  10. Do people think the WTO have any jurisdiction here? It's entitled to its opinion but it's not a criminal court and as I recall the germane part of the test related to criminality? FWIW I wouldn't be in the least surprised that this dragging out is to give the exercise a veneer of rigour. If they're still asking questions, it's very much still ongoing. It's when they stop asking questions and we've still heard nowt that we should worry (imo).
