The Feyernoord winger looks better than anything we currently have on the right and dare I say almost Salah like with his directness. I’m encouraged that we’re looking at right sided players, it would raise serious questions of judgement if we had Murphy and Elanga starting next season.

Is Bird freelance now sure he was finished by the Mirror?

I haven’t read the article but stage 4 usually means its spread and terminal, however with life prolonging drugs these days people can lead a normal life, usually plenty of unpleasant side effects which can be challenging but hopefully his cancer can be stabilised and managed. Long live King Kev.

Surprise, agent hoys out transfer link at time of new contract negotiations.

Opening up Leazes Terrace with a park maintained by the club should be one of the selling points to get the whole city on board, not just football fans. They’ve got the land at the metro station to put something commercial in place. If the club get greedy and want to put buildings on the SJP footprint, I think it’s the wrong move. A new well maintained park in the city centre would be a great addition.

Like cockroaches coming out the woodwork, seen a couple of their shirts dotted around the North East’s premier coastline since last weekend. They’ll disappear as always once the results start going against them.

Interesting line from BBC article and probably confirms Longstaff’s claims last year- Jacob Ramsey only had a brief window into Howe's sessions before the fixtures piled up and the midfielder was understood to have found the level of high-intensity running within the drills a jolt at first after being used to a more relaxed way of training, even under the demanding Unai Emery at Aston Villa.

Think he’ll do very well at Barca but definitely has flaws to his game. Apart from his penalties, I don’t really see any area of his game that has dramatically improved in his time here.
-
I’d take the players they signed over ours like.

Would we ever receive the full money from Barcelona is the question. I’d be wanting a hefty amount upfront.
-
Think this will drag out unless another club comes knocking, Bayern will not want to pay 70 million plus. I think Howe has been careful not to completely burn bridges in case a deals not possible.

According to Edwards he was talked out of it by Hopkinson and co. Since then he’s been rejuvenated by support from stands. Losing at home to Brentford must have triggered something, but can’t imagine his confidence has been boosted in the following weeks. His interview on Sunday certainly wasn’t the most inspiring and reeked of a manager non plussed.
-
Nah it was after losing at home to Brentford.

I think the opposite a new manager could get the project moving again. This is a window of opportunity to get a good manager, come October the landscape won’t look as appealing.
-
That and the video of Willock? Just hanging his leg out for the free quick speaks volumes of the poor mentality around the whole squad.

Think one of the most concerning things is how uninspiring Howe sounds in both pre and post match interviews. There wasn’t even any rallying call to say things will be different next season. He’s always played everything with a straight bat and been on the whole unemotional since he’s been here, but it’s all just very bland from him at the moment. The club feels very stale at the moment and whilst actions not words are required, the whole vibe around him looks that of a beaten man at the moment.

For him to have any chance next season he needs to be ruthless this summer. With SCR even if we sell Gordon and Tonali, I still think it’ll be a one in and one out policy. I’m already seeing murmurs that we might keep Schar, we’re crying out for a new CB in my opinion, if we keep Schar that’s 4 CB’s and no chance a new one is coming in. The likes of Willock and Murphy should be gone this summer, under Eddie can anyone confidently predict Murphy won’t be on that team sheet come August? Club insiders have already riled against a huge rebuild being required this summer, doesn’t take a genius to know where that comes from. Get this summer wrong and we’ll be in a relegation battle next season, the squad is lacking massively in quality and hunger.
-
Be interesting to see if they kick on, clearly got a good manager and DOF who is all over the European leagues. If you’re a young player in the French league say and can play in the Europa League under Le Bris, it could get even more embarrassing for us this summer if we’re shopping in a similar market for players. Could just as easily see them getting relegated next season with the extra games, but their recruitment is next level to ours, so wouldn’t be surprised to see them do well again.
-
Hot day and players disinterested as on the beach already. Not the recipe for Howe to produce a high intensity, run the opposition into the ground performance. Anyone thinking this changes next season is off their tits. He hasn’t got the will, ability, or coaching staff to evolve us into a technical, possession based team Gone after 10 games is my prediction and we’ll be picking over the dregs left available to replace him. This called for a positive intervention and giving him the summer will go down as a huge error of judgement.

70 million minimum, he’s got years left on his contract.

Will Osula: Goal vs Man United nominated for PL Goal of the Season

Caulkin is a nauseating cunt these days. -
3 good options to replace Gordon with Nusa, Banzouma Toure and this lad from Lille. I was big on Nusa but don’t think he’s had the best season, the lad from Lille looks a real talent and might be the best of 3.

Nice images of Leazes Terrace and would be very unique, but agree with @TheBrownBottle this is with a view to a new stadium. There’s NDA’s in place en masse at Newcastle CC regarding this and would point people to the below, which will be used to help push through the development. Mayor Kim said: “Like many local people, I get frustrated about developments taking far too long to deliver which means we don’t fully feel the benefit of schemes as quickly as we should. This needs to change. The creation of our new Mayoral Development Zone will help to bring in major new investment and quicken development of local schemes so that we can get on with delivering our vision and bold plans to transform the North East. “We want to boost jobs, attract new business and bring in major private sector investment to support the work we’re already doing to grow our high streets, business parks and our rural and coastal areas. We want to create better places for people to live and thrive, and this initiative will accelerate our ability to do this. “I am confident the creation of the new Mayoral Development Zone will radically speed up the pace of development and can assure people that there will be real visible change in the coming years.”
