  1. The Seattle stadium with a view of the city at one end is spectacular. I think Minnesota and Atlanta’s new stadiums have big glass windows at one end, if we could frame the river and bridges at one end it would be breathtaking. Let’s just hope the council don’t ear mark it for student accommodation, before any new owner can explore the possibility.
  2. Yep. On Wraiths podcast a few weeks ago he could hardly keep a straight face when talking about it with Liam Kennedy. What a load of f***ing rubbish. Put in another link for Wraith’s podcast mate, him and the Geordie Dentist have clearly been bang on about the takeover since its inception I’ll stick a link up next Tuesday just for you.
  3. Yep. On Wraiths podcast a few weeks ago he could hardly keep a straight face when talking about it with Liam Kennedy. What a load of fucking rubbish.
  4. A small line in this article from Douglas again mentions a potential change to make up of deal. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/revealed-key-factor-newcastles-january-19438711
  5. Yeah I'm with you, that makes no sense. I think Kennedy is making too much of the takeover recently. He's the only journalist actively covering it and he went big on the NCSL stuff and specifically said they'd take the PL to court which hasn't happened. There is no way Wraith is his source, Wraith knows next to nothing imo and neither do the dentist or the other guy. I do think Kennedy is reporting in good faith but he is wrongly getting people's hopes up with concrete evidence. He always caveats his articles with the fact he's "hopeful" rather than "confident" but he's really pushing the positive narrative hard and I can't stand his "join the dots" nonsense. I would love for the takeover to go through and I do think there is stuff going on with regards to Ashley's legal action/arbitration but I genuinely don't think anyone knows how it's progressing outside of those directly involved. Like f***ing kinder garden in here. He said, they said, dont tell tales. It's all Twitter s****! Not sure I get your point? I'm just saying Kennedy is pushing a positive takeover agenda when no other journalists are so I'm sceptical of the information he's reporting. I've then used the NCSL stuff as an example of something he said would happen (taking the PL to court following the LBA they issued) that didn't turn out to be true. I didn't realise expressing an opinion was an offence. How hasn’t that turned out to be true? It’s still a ongoing process. Do you expect everything to happen within a couple of weeks? No, of course not. But Kennedy reported they would be going to court once the timeframe within the LBA had been served and that hasn't happened as it? Therefore it's turned out to not be true. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure all of that was at least 4-6 weeks ago which is already nearly a quarter of the way in to the 5 month timeframe he gave for the NCSL action to be resolved. Instead we're back to lobbying MP's which seems a touch desperate. It's ok to ge in the "I want to to happen camp" but still question some of the information given from those most positive about it. Not sure I follow you here. You are complaining because a 5 month time frame hasn't been followed through within 4-6 weeks? I'm not complaining, just sceptical that LK reported something that hasn't happened. He said following the timeframe provided within the LBA elapsing NCSL would follow through on their promise and commence legal action/start court proceedings. He was emphatic on this point on numerous occasions. He has since admitted they may not take the matter to court and that (along with the fact no other journalist is covering the story to the extent he is) makes me a bit sceptical about the rest of his coverage on the takeover. I've been viewing/reading the forum for a long time without posting much and I know those on the "it won't happen" side of the fence aren't received well and rightly so in some cases because it's clear they are just here go aggrevate the situation and wind people up. For clarity I genuinely want it to happen and like everyone else I believe it is clear discussions of sorts are on going which means it's still alive and could happen. I just think it's healthy to question things that haven't played out how it was reported they would. All what you have said there is healthy scepticism which no one should have a problem with. What I would say is that Liam Kennedy has said it’s a constantly changing situation and there are a lot of balls in the air. My take is the NCSL action is co-ordinated, and if arbitration is moving forward maybe they have been told to hold off for now. I now think we may be at the point where they’re trying to thrash this out without any legal action taking place.
  6. Whatever your opinions of Wraith are what is indisputable is that he has contact with Staveley / PCP. The fact Mehdrad Ghodoussi has just appeared on a video he produced should be enough to tell you that. As for people questioning Kennedy as with Caulkin previously he is passing on what he is being told, and is also a fan like the rest of us. Let’s not beat the bloke up as we all want updates, yes have a healthy level of scepticism but for fucks sake this quest to discredit anyone with positive information is a bit much.
  7. As long as they get rid of the current incumbent sharpish none of us will have any complaints.
  8. Without a doubt people arriving in the city by train would be hit straight away with it as they cross river. Also in line with the new American stadiums a big glass window at one end of stadium overlooking river/bridges would be something else. Obviously it would hopefully have a big tiered stand like Spurs now have to create atmosphere, though I love St Jame’s long term this would transform us.
  9. Aye Kennedy said they don’t want to come in through the side door, however I still wouldn’t rule out some changes to the deal to get it through.
  10. It's f***ing ludicrous. He does it every f***ing time, man. He's probably running windows 95 and reading it on netscape navigator too. Ban worthy. Aye I’ve just escaped from Beamish sorry lads.
  11. That’s your lot what a f*** on copying all that. Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 Replying to @CtheDoctor Relegation kills the deal. Saudis aren't having second thoughts about buying the club. 10:20 am · 11 Dec 2020· Ben Carter @CtheDoctor 4h Replying to @LiamJKennedy23 I know that but you said the next two-three games are crucial..you’ve got to remember a lot of people are hanging on that this may go through in time for the January window..the above contradicts that. Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 3h I've not put a timeframe on it. There isn't one. There was hope Jan a few weeks back but this is an ever-changing situation. Impossible to know how, when or if this will break. Paul Palpatine @Magman55 4h Replying to @LiamJKennedy23 and @CtheDoctor In Bruce we trust eh. Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 3h We have to. And I think they will fine. But some extra breathing space over next week would help no end. Show replies PBboss @Telwhi12 3h Replying to @LiamJKennedy23 and @CtheDoctor Ahh Liam, but will the Turkey be cooked in time for Xmas dinner? Lawyer said 3 weeks hard work so that ends Boxing Day, Turkey chips and Pickled onions on Boxing Day would be nice (family tradition) Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 3h Impossible for anyone to say really. I'd suspect this will go into 2021, but that's purely an educated guess.
  12. Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 5h Hard to know really. The weight of evidence is growing, so too is positivity from ALL sides. Craig Elrington @clmandhk 5h Thanks Liam uve been a breath of fresh air through this who saga hope we all get the result we hope for Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 Replying to @clmandhk I hope so, too. Can't say if we will, but those involved think so. 9:42 am · 11 Dec 2020
  13. michael forster @foschops 5h Honestly though do you in your head not your heart actually believe the takeover with the PIF will eventually go through? Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 Replying to @foschops@milesstarforth and @MouthofTynePod I think it has a decent chance. And while buyer has always displayed confidence, seller now on that train too. 9:39 am · 11 Dec 2020
  14. Kennedy’s answer to Easter question - Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 Replying to @NUFC_1980_1994 and @NUFC360 As for third one, if it takes that long then so be it, very few people even those close have control over that. Piece essentially about keeping wolf from the door over festive period, which there is concern about, obviously, as a lot of people have a lot at stake in this deal.
  15. Apologies in advance but my I phone updates f***ed my ability to copy tweets. More follow up from Kennedy to this morning’s article. Important to note for those that ridicule buyers confidence, according to Kennedy it’s not just the buyers who are confident. NUFC 1980-1994 @NUFC_1980_1994 2h 1. You say (about delivering) during the piece "we don't know" yet state "takeover turkey is close to being cooked." Can you elaborate? 2. You say Ashley is working hard to get it done but fail to confirm what he's doing. Can you elaborate? 3. Are Easter eggs on standby? Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 2h Been in oven since May 19 for context. There's renewed positivity from both sides. Could come out oven perfect, or burnt to a crisp. I, personally, can't predict which, although I do have my own opinion. MA is the one in driving seat re action, contact w/ PL via legal channels. Dean Dodds @DeanDodds2 · 2h In your opinion liam which way do you think this goes? Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 2h The people who matter are confident, so I am hopeful. Ethan Common @Ethcommon 1h That’s enough for me. I’ve always been confident because the buyers have been confident. Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 Replying to @Ethcommon @DeanDodds2 and 2 others It's not just the buyers.
  16. Is it actually being built? The market for commercial real estate is on its arse. Whatever the use- retail, office, student housing- all have taken an absolute beating. Yeah Radisson red hotel has been given go ahead. I agree we will need to relocate and Castle Leazes is still the best and only city centre site now viable. I can’t see a problem with relocating to Castle Leazes, of course there’ll be nimbys but with Leazes Terrace opened up and St James used to create a new and usable park it could benefit the whole city. There is another site available now which is where the newcastle arena is as that is closing in a couple of years. it has lots of land round and it and is a brown field site so would get through planning unlike castle leazes which i still think would be blocked. I agree the arena site would be fantastic for a new stadium, however I think the below development may put pay to this. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/homes-built-quayside-west-approved-19316403 still room on the arena site and car park for a super stadium Hope your right I think it would be a great site with close links to city centre, and would actually be quite spectacular with the right design in that location. Potential to be even fucking colder in winter, but I’m sure the Saudi’s will install heated seats to account for that.
  17. I agree it would be nice to see a softening of their resistance to increase confidence levels in some, but in public at least where not going to see it. However, a combination of legal and political pressure behind closed doors will see this get resolved in our favour hopefully.
  18. Maybe it’s because he speaks to the people involved, which would give him a lot more insight than us lot. And to be fair to him he always says hopeful as opposed to confident. So did Caulkin and we all know how that turned out. He'll be hopeful as a supporter but I wouldn't be reading much else into what he says. I’m very hopeful this will get done, but can understand pessimism. I’m all in on this or my days with this club are over. On Kennedy I think he’s genuine and has sources. I also think we’ve got some big hitters on our side and I don’t think they’re going to accept defeat on this.
