  1. Hall and Shepherd seen the pound signs and knew all the objections were going to lead to a lengthy public enquiry. He went for the quickest option and not the best in the long term in my opinion.
  2. Steve Wraith’s he has Liam Kennedy on every Tuesday. Always worth a listen for the latest takeover craic.
  3. Is it actually being built? The market for commercial real estate is on its arse. Whatever the use- retail, office, student housing- all have taken an absolute beating. Yeah Radisson red hotel has been given go ahead. I agree we will need to relocate and Castle Leazes is still the best and only city centre site now viable. I can’t see a problem with relocating to Castle Leazes, of course there’ll be nimbys but with Leazes Terrace opened up and St James used to create a new and usable park it could benefit the whole city. This is eaxactly what the 1997 proposals were. I wrote about all this back in 2010 . . . https://www.skyscrapercity.com/threads/newcastle-and-the-north-east-as-it-might-have-been.1009531/post-53090947 How much improved is that artists impression of Leazes Terrace. What a shame that certain people within the city couldn’t see past the end of their own nose. In reality their 36 thousand petition was a massive minority, there was even rumours at the time they collected signatures at joker park on match days. When our takeover happens I would love PIF to revisit this and with their backing it could be even greater than Hall and Shepherd’s vision.

  5. Decent response from Rishi Sunak to a fans letter, I do think this was a good play by the NCSL and is keeping it in the political arena - ‘I am aware that Newcastle United have confirmed they have launched legal proceedings against the Premier League following the failed takeover bid by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. 'Unfortunately, I am not in a position to comment on these proceedings, but I hope they can be appropriately resolved in a timely manner. 'Lastly, I am writing to let you know that I have contacted the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to bring all these matters to their attention and raise with them all the points you have made in your email. 'I have asked for a formal government reply on the matter and I will, of course, let you know as soon as I have received a response. ‘Thank you again for taking the time to contact me. If there is anything I can do to help in the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch.'
  6. Move aside mimms I’m all in on this. In all seriousness I think we may hear something re legal action this week.
  7. Call me cynical but if they’d mistakenly put tickets up for sale in the gallowgate I might have believed them, but the fact they were corporate tickets tells us all we need to know. I don’t have a problem with corporate season ticket holders taking a percentage of the 2000 places, however absolutely no tickets should be on general sale for these games.
  8. I enjoy your positive posts WM but for fear of being a pedant t***, please could you learn to use the "Copy link to Tweet" option to make the Tweets easier to read Noted I previously used to but for some reason my phone has stopped working when copying tweets for some reason. I’ll try to sort it though ?
  9. :'( :'( :'( Less of that shite in this thread thank you.
  10. Absolute disgrace I wouldn’t put it past this regime hawking them to corporate scousers. At anytime this is unacceptable and makes us look small time, but when capacity is limited to 2 thousand ? If any of them tickets end up in the hands of Liverpool fans when our lot can’t get in it’ll be a f***ing outrage. Of course they'll be hawking them off to the Scousers. They did that when we played them a couple of seasons ago despite 1000s of NUFC fans not even being offered the chance to buy a ticket. The crowd will probably be 50/50 that day. Thankfully I'll be nowhere near the place. Agree completely another reason why this regime is rotten to the core, they’d happily sell out their own supporters for a few extra quid. They've taken these down now and said it was a "mistake". I understand a % of the tickets available will go to hospitality but should go to existing hospitality holders not general sale, should be a small percentage but they absolutely should not be selling them like this, and certainly not before they have even engaged on their plans for the return of fans let alone before they have communicated it. Mistake my arse, but fair play for bringing this to people’s attention. Looks like you’ve had a result in getting them to take it down. Selling corporate tickets to visiting fans, or even giving them the chance to buy them would have been the ultimate insult to our fan base.
  11. Love the fact he’s actually replying to our fans now. He certainly knows what he’s doing with these tweets, the bloke could be a hero. Chris S Gem stone @Chris9Stocker 3h Nick mate, either turn off the radiator or turn it right down otherwise that Edwardian light fitting will get wasted by a red hot radiator. Or you could just move the light.... Having said that, it probably doesn't get lower than 22 degrees in BrightonWinking facein the winter! Nick De Marco QC @nickdemarco_ Replying to @Chris9Stocker Good point! It’s off now as I’m not there but I shall move it when I go back

  13. It's not really a disgrace like is it? Have they (The Trust) bothered to do anything useful with their survey results yet? Follow up action planned? It absolutely is a disgrace if any season ticket holder can’t attend a game because some corporate scousers with plenty of cash are allowed in ahead of them. Whilst it’s a 2 thousand limit every season ticket holder where possible should be given 1st choice on these tickets.

  15. Aye possibly it certainly seems that NCSL and Kennedy have confirmed at the very least that De Marco is working on the takeover in next 3 weeks. So he’s just been making bread up to this point? Possibly a bit of painting and doing his new apartment out aswell.
  16. Aye possibly it certainly seems that NCSL and Kennedy have confirmed at the very least that De Marco is working on the takeover in next 3 weeks.
  17. f*** does that mean I interpret that as De Marco is now about to put all the evidence together and present it. I suspect either arbitration date has been set, or it’s at least sit down with the PL time to thrash this out.
  18. Liam Kennedy in reply to De Marco’s tweet. Liam Kennedy @LiamJKennedy23 "The sun's rays do not burn until brought to a focus..."
  19. I hope this man is as good as the hype. He must be realising by now he has the weight of the Geordie nation on his shoulders. I have a sneaky feeling though Shaheed Fatima QC may play a very big part in proceedings. She is very highly rated and experienced in the Middle East. She might be the ace when it comes to separating PIF and the Govt. Bring it fucking home and give us all the best xmas ever.
  20. Ignore the first part of this article as clearly Bentalab coming back could only be considered as not positive. However, on the theme of Middle East relations, takeover observers are apparently watching developments. In returning for stopping the blockade of Qatar, let’s hope the piracy argument can be buried and take that out the equation. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/revealed-former-player-offered-back-19403503
  21. As this is the positive takeover thread, the biggest impact regarding Qatar would be the reinstatement of bein in Saudi Arabia. I’m not saying that will happen, however it could potentially be a game changer in relation to takeover. By linking the state to pif the PL were clearly trying to bring the takeover down over piracy, this would remove that obstacle.
  22. I have little doubt that we would have heard a little something from Mimms this week if IMTTS hadn't been such a self satisfied dickhead. Must admit I haven’t quite understood what’s gone on there, but agree it would be nice to get Mimms back on board. I think we all enjoy the itk stuff, and it’s a shame if one person has spoilt it for the rest of us.
  23. Glad to see this thread bumped again, hopefully it brings us some good luck before xmas. Just listened back to Liam Kennedy on Tuesdays podcast, he specifically stated “significant legal movement by this weekend”. Now this must have related to NCSL so was definitely expecting some sort of update today. Could be a number of reasons nothings broke today, but think we’ll hear something from these lads in very near future.
  24. I would not be in the least bit surprised if he returned with a bit of a bang in the near future.
