This action may lead to a formal decision, which according to Caulkin weeks ago was one of the aims of legal action. However, it may be a formal rejection which would then open the appeal route, basically I wouldn’t be so sure this will be the end of it. An appeal process could take a year, whether the Saudis are prepared to hang around that long will be the question. I will caveat the above though by saying I think the PL’s lawyers will advise Masters and Hoffman their on dodgy ground, which will get us the required result in next month or so. No way in the current climate will the PL want an expensive court case with the potential of a 300 million plus pay out to Ashley if they lose.

Get yourself over here Mimmsy lad, you’ll never be questioned by the salt of the earth on this thread.

Hello again my old friend. Magpie Media @MagpieMediaa Takeover is closer than ever to being approved. PL want to settle this out of court and just need a few more pieces of evidence provided to them by the Saudi PIF which will be given in the next couple of weeks. Jamie Reuben’s step down was significant #NUFC

Q & A with Liam Kennedy in shields gazette, pretty similar to what he was saying midweek. However, he does think the Jamie Reuben development is significant. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/things-are-developing-behind-scenes-newcastle-united-takeover-moves-assessed-after-jamie-reuben-bombshell-3013580

My theory is the PL are dragging it out as long as possible in hope it still goes away. They don’t want to approve it. It’ll get to xmas and near the window, we’ll be hanging around the bottom and with no sight of any movement from the PL the buyers finally call time. Ashley will sue the PL in 2021 and win, but they’d rather go through that and lose money than upset so many other parties. That’s possible and obviously our worse case scenario. We have to hope a potential legal settlement of 300 million plus is what pushes it over the line. This was Liam Kennedy’s take on a certain someone’s show last night. He said: “I wish I could tell everybody everything I know, but you can’t do that in these situations. “Things are ticking away. The legal cogs are turning, and things are happening. “That doesn’t mean we are all going to get the result that we want at the end, but it’s a positive in itself that everybody is still at the table. “Everybody [who] is part of the consortium, the legal team [and] other legal bodies [are there]. “Everybody is there, and they’re talking; the Premier League, Newcastle United, and Mike Ashley [and] Justin Barnes. “Everybody is there, and things are moving; I want to give more, but I can’t, unfortunately.”

The general consensus seems to be we’ll know if this is happening by December / January. Does anybody have any theories why by this point we’ll know ? I mean by all accounts the bid is still on the table, so if it was about providing new info a decision could be reached at any point. The only scenarios I can think of is that’s how long it will take De Marco to present case to PL and ask for decision, or the consortium are restructuring the bid. Beyond that I can’t think of any other reason for the expected timescale.

Villa’s performance in the play off final against Fulham was an embarrassment under this bloke. Completely outplayed and don’t think they mustered a shot on target. Really not sure how he keeps a straight face when he goes on about changing and improvement taking time. As someone said earlier it’s as if he took over a team rock bottom. The reality is he’s systematically dismantled a well drilled defence, player’s like Longstaff and Almiron have regressed, and our attacking play now revolves around expecting one player to create something out of nothing. This is without even going into his mismanagement of injuries and z list coaching staff. The only attribute he’s claimed to have is man management, however if my boss joked on and give me extra days off I’d be happy. If it wasn’t for the potential takeover I’d be wanting Wolves to stick 7 past us on Sunday, however until the day it’s off the table we’ve got to hope this plank keeps us up.

Wouldn’t even waste time thinking about it, never going to happen in this closed shop super league format. Clearly American backed by certain clubs, JP Morgan and Amazon, however without UEFA backing and national FA’s will never get off ground.
-
What a fucking shit hole, makes outside of the black garter look up market.
-
Does what your hearing make you confident this will happen ? It’s made the buying side much more positive (although we know they’ve been positive a number of times and we know that the outcome wasn’t good) Staveley now thinks this gets done before Xmas with the latest lawyer news. Good stuff cheers for the update ?

This graphic spells out everything we need to know, absolutely fucking terrifying.

Not sure they’ll have an analyst at this stage, however Owen Brown seems very involved with consortium. He’s also close to Rafa, I would imagine his view has already been sought.
-
I love the term ‘we’ here, is this the same medical staff who worked under Rafa ? If so they have certainly changed their way of doing things. "Unfortunately, he nicked a hamstring just before half time,” said Bruce. “We thought he was going to be OK, but he clearly wasn’t.”
-
The fact he also sent Hayden out for the 2nd half after injuring his hamstring was another master stroke. Not only does he not have any concept of tactics, the mismanagement of injuries at every club he’s been to is testament to his general incompetence. The most damning statistic for me however is 10 times now in his 43 games we have lost by 3 goals or more. This was a team well drilled who rarely lost by more than 1 goal to even the top clubs. This nonsense that he is trying to change our style needs put to bed, he doesn’t have any style of play and he fucking knows it.
-
To be fair no club in their right mind goes from Rafa to Steve Bruce. The club is a joke.
-
Is anyone even remotely interested in what he’s got to say. No excuses against a top team, we go again next week. Predictably it will be nothing to do with him. Rinse and repeat until the takeover goes through.
-
Compare this performance at home to Leeds and Villa’s last weekend. Both these teams attack with numbers in the box and are well organised. No team would have touched this clown. I would say his methods are outdated, but I actually don’t even think there’s a method behind anything we do. A bloke off the street could pick a better team than this imbecile.
-
Rafa’s well drilled defence has absolutely been dismantled by this fraud.
-
Another passive inept display by the sounds of it. This bloke is so out of his depth it’s embarrassing.
