  1. New stadium for me and nowt to do with PSR, though that’s clearly a bonus. The current stadium has seen its day, bolting on an extension whilst largely having to leave the East Stand in its current guise and two dated lop sided stands with poor views, would seem massively underwhelming and an opportunity of a lifetime for the city missed. I suspect they’ll make the new stadium option much more attractive to sway opinion, providing the finance is actually there to spend 2/3 billion on a new stadium, a half measure such as another tier on the Gallowgate smacks of hedging their bets and won’t be game changing if the ambition is really to challenge the elite.
  2. The line that St James apart from the Gallowgate wouldn’t change significantly is a bit disappointing, if that was the option and it’d cost a billion. I would have thought St James as opposed to the new stadium would have been the bubble wrap option.
  3. Yeah might be a good deal financially, but if they’re unable to replace him risks de-railing their season if Watkins gets injured. The fact they also had to sell Luiz in the summer to comply, just shows how the current system is rigged and anti-competitive.
  4. On face value it appears Silverstone has taken the plaudits for the adidas/Sela deals, which I agree was low hanging fruit and has attracted some other minor sponsorships which are not going to move the dial significantly. However, playing devils advocate if your Silverstone and you know the yearly growth is important, would you not be spreading things such as training and stadium sponsorship out, rather than doing them in one fell swoop ? As a layman you could argue why don’t they just do short term deals on training gear etc, but in the real world is that getting the best return ? My hunch is that Silverstone isn’t the most dynamic, I don’t think the club are maximising the Middle East avenue sufficiently currently and is bleeding the fans dry currently as the easy option, not sure he was particularly liked by Arsenal fans, but think they are holding off on training and stadium sponsorship until these big infrastructure announcements, have a feeling we’ll see a big Middle East sponsorship of new stadium.
  5. I mean yes the first paragraph doesn’t place much faith in the hidden article.
  6. Aye was some night 6k plus on a cold dark Wednesday in October and every man for himself before and after the game. Would love to have seen Adam P and these YouTube goons filming their content outside for that one.
  7. Must be the worst generation of football supporters ever currently, the game has gone from working class to middle class theatre going types. Give me a cold October night at Stoke in the 90’s running the gauntlet than the current experience.
  8. Must be a lot of people in Thailand still following Leicester, gives a sense of how we still need to tap into the Middle East market more.
  9. K.1.3 Amortisations/impairment of relevant persons’ costs are calculated from the licensee’s annual financial statements and/or interim financial statements as defined in Annex G. Annex G from UEFA rulebook for anyone who can understand and what the PL rules will trial. https://documents.uefa.com/r/UEFA-Club-Licensing-and-Financial-Sustainability-Regulations-2024/Annex-G-Accounting-requirements-for-the-preparation-of-financial-statements-Online
  10. Yes you’re right they’re to be trialled alongside current PSR rules from next season, but UEFA has the 70% in place I believe, so not sure if any club breaching it will fall foul if competing in Europe next season ? Not sure most reports i read said amortisation will be included and assessed yearly, as opposed to 3 year rolling period.
  11. I’m not painting any doomsday scenario they’re just being sensible, you can see by figures how close we are.
  12. We are currently at 68% in squad cost to revenue currently, if we qualify for Europe need to be at 70% for new rules from next season. We need to remove players from the wage bill to make room.
  13. Brilliant must have been 7k plus in London Road, sunny day, Hall escorted to the ground by the fans and the feeling that the club was taking off under Keegan.
  14. It’s just taking the mainstream media a little while to realise that this isn’t Mike Ashley, McKeag, or Seymour who own Newcastle anymore, we might have been handicapped by changing of the rules, but PIF won’t roll over and sell any major asset like Isak unless it benefits NUFC. Never been so relaxed and unbothered about endless drips in the media talking shit.
  15. Yeah same with Huijsen missed the boat in summer when we were getting linked.
  16. I think the likes of Bournemouth, Forrest and Fulham cause us just as many problems at home than some of the more heralded so called big 6. There’s an expectation to beat these sides which is why we need to be even more disciplined, especially defensively and bang up for them.
  17. Did he not end up marking 2 blokes considerably bigger than him on the centre of the 6 yard box, where were the 2 CB’s and Joelinton stands there watching ?
  18. Alarm bells when he ends up at Bournemouth to strengthen their CL push.
  19. Is this the week when the tribunal rule on the APT case ? Massive if they fall on City’s side and by default decide all the rules are unlawful, hopefully don’t take kindly to the PL jumping the gun on their interpretation of the verdict.
  20. I can see another Bournemouth here if where not at it, very good footballing team.
  21. 1987 against Villa Tony Cunningham and Beardsley goals in 2-1 win.
  22. Like I said good accounting your lot clearly claimed for everything down to the last hot dog.
  23. Standing in the Gallowgate at home to Villa, can’t remember the year, Beardsley shuffle at the edge of the area and drilled into bottom corner, best player in my lifetime bar none.
