XG is always referred to as a stat, but what’s it actually based on? It’s stupid that Isak and, say, Burn are giving the same percentage chance of scoring from any one given position. Plus, you know, some goalkeepers are better than others. You can’t quantify a chance. I’m not violently opposed to it, I don’t think people that find it useful are virgins, but I fail to see much practical benefit to it.

Don't really get this. A point for Forest would have been better for us than them getting all three (whether or not you think it will be fruitful, we're chasing them) and a point for Manchester United would have meant nowt to us. Do think there's a tendency online to overthink about this sort of thing. Nothing about Man Utd's short or long term would have been altered with them picking up a draw or win tonight.

One way I rationalise the Saudi stuff to myself is that, unlike the journalists that state their opposition, I am not actually being paid to continue watching Newcastle- I am not taking any blood money and they are.
