We’re really slow in possession and have no ideas, we only seem to want to shift the ball out wide and cross for the sake of it, and we seem to love losing the ball of our own making and concede a chance - that’s my takeaway from this season

I’d love to see Alonso or Fabregas here purely just to have someone else try and change our style of play. My main gripe for the last 20 odd years has been how easy we are to play against. Eddie changed that slightly for a while, but it’s coming back around again. If you’re an opposition team that badly needs some points or in a poor run of form, we’re the team that you want to play, it just makes me angry at how predictable that can be

With the limited times I saw his Bayer Leverkusen play, it felt controlled with some pace and power on the break too. I want us to be a side that keeps possession of the ball and dominates against these shit teams like today

We need a complete change of philosophy to how we play. You cannot keep playing this flat midfield 3, blind pressing, poor in possession and just generally have no control to our game ever. What is our philosophy, what are we trying to do. Big questions need to be asked with the direction given the season will end with a mid table finish

It’s killing me how we’re making this team look so much better than they actually are. Maybe that was the plan, let them have all the ball, win every tackle and the freedom around the box. Then we can try and work the space that opens up
