  1. I really think that as long as a team finishes within 10 points from Man City this season - as they will be winning it again - they will get the title from the points deduction. I’m sure Man City would take that alongside a heavy fine and transfer ban

    Joelinton

It’s strange to me that he gets called out again for a 45 minutes where he was the best of the 3 midfielders out there… It was right to take him off, but it’s mad how everyone ignores the good tackles, the tracking back, the forward runs and the positivity to try and progress the ball.
  3. And I agree with what you’re saying in principle - I just think when country wealth starts to get involved then you lose the legitimacy with the success that follows. I’m with you that you can’t upset the status quo without a significant outlay so that’s why we should still be allowed to spend a significant amount of money, but there needs to be some form of cap that stops spending getting completely out of control. Other stakeholders have raised good alternatives to allow investment and it’s just a sad situation that these can’t be taken into consideration and PSR moved forward
  4. I want these PSR rules to change like everyone, but you can’t allow state owned teams like ourselves and Man City to be free from any restraint. All that would do is end up with both teams at the top and nobody else able to get close
  5. What would suggest? Serious question and not a dig
  6. I remember this one well. It was in the net before Joe Hart managed to take a breath. One of the most outrageous decisions in the history of the game to disallow that after it actually went in
  7. I’m taking this as a positive overall. Players that we believed would improve, we couldn’t sign so we didn’t settle for second best. Next summer we will be in a fantastic position to spend money given that it’s another loss making year off the books
  8. And that Man Utd wouldn’t want to help us
  9. And I’m content that we don’t sign him for that sort of astronomical fee
  10. Sancho’s wages are the only reason why I think we wouldn’t go for him. He ticks every other box for us and has something to prove in the league. It’s really sad that a deal like this can’t be done as Man Utd are a rival and obviously want to shaft us given our recent interactions
  11. I’m still shocked about the whole thing and believe the integrity of the entire competition is questionable right now

    Joelinton

Were some of you watching a different game last night… He wasn’t spectacular, but had a decent game. Held up the ball in the middle and turned away from the press well, had some nice touches / simple passes, made many runs forward to create an overlap and helped out defensively really well. It didn’t help that he was being fouled all game and the fluidity of the team wasn’t great overall Just because he missed a penalty it seems like the judgement reverts to a poor game, very strange reaction
  13. We’ve missed out on so many of our supposed ‘targets’ this summer with all the PSR trash. Would’ve been interesting to see who we would’ve gone for if there were less financial worries at play
  14. I love the way the lad moves across the pitch and his passing range is also top quality. Reminds me a bit of Xabi Alonso with his vision and style of pass

    Joe Willock

Yeah his reaction when on the ground talking to the physio and when he walked off said to me that he thought it was serious
  16. That’s such a terrible take, I don’t know how to respond

    Harvey Barnes

Thought he made a big impact there for us. I also really appreciated that he went on the outside a bit instead of just cutting back on his right foot

    Lloyd Kelly

Agreed. Thought he defended pretty well considering who he was up against and we couldn’t keep the ball after the first 25 minutes
  19. I wonder how much Antoine Semenyo would cost us. I really enjoy watching him play and he always gives us huge problems I think he’d be a perfect fit for the right side with his pace and trickery. We also play similarly to Bournemouth so there’s some tactical alignment there.
  20. You’d be annoyed if you’re Barnes when Joelinton is playing left of a midfield four
  21. I agree with what you’re saying, but did he really lose the captaincy. Lascelles has always been captain and Tripper was a stand in. We’ve just moved the on field captaincy to a player that will actually play every week
  22. I just can’t see him wanting to play for Everton even with all the links that have been mentioned
