I think he could play that role for us just in a different way to how Murphy does it currently. He’d also be a great option when Isak is out injured
-
I mean if we ended up with Huijsen and Cunha for £110m, I’d be happy with that as the only spending we do this summer
-
Let’s win the FA Cup as well I say
-
I’m always impressed with his footwork whenever I see him play. There’s certainly a lot of talent to tap into there alongside his physical attributes
-
Any news or the reason for him not being in the squad today?
-
The sad thing on this whole debate is that we’d all happily have a fit Callum Wilson as backup to Isak and Osula just behind - well at least for one more season anyways. I can see us taking the risk again next season and and giving him one more year as there’s other priorities in the squad

Same. It really feels different this time in that I don’t think that’s all consuming like in 2023. Being in the ground on Wednesday it didn’t feel like the last time when there was this huge relief at holding onto a lead or the pressure and somewhat ‘desperation’ to reach a final. We wanted to win the game and went about jobs with great professionalism. Also, I actually think it being Liverpool in the final gives us far more tactical clarity and stops the naïveté of the final against Man Utd.

I’m in love with the guy. I still can’t believe that we have him playing in black and white
-
Most probably do want I did last time and just take a stroll to Wembley on the morning of the game with the little ones as I live close by. No chance of getting tickets unless there’s some sort of ballot. But I’m happy for those with season tickets get to have the experience
-
What’s the point of all of this seriously - there’s literally no hope for progression for those sides with ambition
-
We really need to be looking to do some deal in the final few days - we need to refresh the squad and can’t just stand back while others do
-
Or we can just take 3 points and they both still lose
-
How is this allowed to happen, it’s really the opposite of securing a club’s future ffs. We have to sell for PSR reasons when haven’t signed anyone or will be making a transfer. The whole thing stinks
-
Definitely got to be looking at winning pretty much all the home games if want to finish top 5. I’m more confident in our away form right now than at home though
-
Schar loves to gift a golden chance away each game - it’s so frustrating
-
But that doesn’t mean the players they will then sign are not high quality additions no matter if their aspirations are lower. For example, every time I watched Kluivert play for Ajax, I was always impressed by him. I know he moved on a few times after that, but we need to be taking ‘risks’ with players like him that are clearly talented. Especially when he ends up costing €10m at 23 and still had time to grow
-
I’d actually be happy with DCL, Isak and Osula as our central striker options come next season. Means we can go big on a younger CB and RW
-
I’ve never really paid attention to him in the brief moments I’ve watched him, what we he bring us?
-
Oh and I said the same of Aston Villa last year. They had a genuine opportunity to try and win the league this time last January and you really don’t get these opportunities often. They weren’t allowed to freshen up the team to kick on again in the same way we find ourselves right now and just ran out of steam
-
I agree with not wanting to spend billions in a couple of summers, I do t want to be the best that way. But what Man City are doing right now is exactly the problem with the rules. They’re having a shit season so spend £150m to fix it, whereas we ‘can’t afford’ to replace Almiron. Not being allowed to strengthen in the position of strength that we are in right now is just ridiculous
-
Definitely think we will start to others chip in more goals as everyone is super confident right now and we’re getting into great positions. We’ve also been very unlucky with a number of chances being missed from some really good team play. I’m really just happy to have Bruno playing higher up the pitch and getting into positions to play those through balls to forwards runners. I mean that pass yesterday for Isak’s second goal was fantastic and it wasn’t not just ‘poor defending’. I’m more than happy for Bruno to keep providing the assists rather than getting goals himself
-
I’d rather have Semenyo. Don’t know why, but it’s probably with thinking after watching Mbeumo that he’s a bit laboured in his defensive duties whereas Semenyo is all action
-
The only thing that makes me a bit off with seeing him on the right is the constant need to get the ball onto his left foot and how he shapes his body to receive it that way. It just looks odd and unbalanced to me and I can see Bournemouth targeting this with their pace and energy to close down
