I honestly give up with this thick fuckers. Miggy told to cover the wing. And he falls asleep. Bunch of clowns.

Firmly in the full backs pocket today. Not the best with his back to goal and touch tight marking. Also Dummet rarely overlaps to make the FB think a little more. Strange combo.

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

From what I recall FFP stands at around 800 Million right now minus the 32 million we have spent. If the budget was 100million that leaves us 68 Million. 30 on a CD and another striker or LB with the others coming on loans. I actually think we might end up with Trippier, Wood, Left footed CD, (who club allow to go), and a young striker as the buys. Plus 2/3 loans towards the end of the window. I think we might actually go and spend 130million if the right player crops up. Just my opinion. Could be totally wrong. -

I'll stick my neck on the block here. I'm not overly excited by the signing. But I do feel he will be a success. I have a feeling with his character he will raise his game and as I said earlier, could be a great foil for Max and Wilock. From looking a little deeper at his clips, he's clearly very strong physically and mentally, and has a hell of a shot. Strong in the air and is comfortable at holding the ball up. Positives: Strength in the air, we have fucking zero. Power at shooting - most our players can't hit a barn door or shoot like a 5 year old. Character - clearly not a soft shite. Premier League experience and top 2 in many aspects of his game in regards Aerial. He's a striker! Cons: Cost, age and overall technical ability. His name is not Woodovic. Let's get behind the lad and I think he'll raise his game and even surprise us. -

Get the lad in. He's got a decent record in a basic team, knows the league and the mix up top might be better for it. He's also a Shearer fan according to the Premier League video on YouTube. His fav striker! Big of muscle up top might allow Wilock to walk up and Max to get higher up the pitch. ...the moneys daft but means must. -
Starting to feel a little more worried with this window now. Feels like Trippier was done early and more so because of his appetite to move to the UK and the Howe connection. Feels a lot more scatter gun right now. The Young lad from France is not what we need to save our season and 30m is fucking steep for what he is. The money in the game has gone really daft tbh. not finished a season and looks like a kid still learning his trade and there goes 30 big ones. Even in the video for all his initial skill, many of the highlights are cut short prior to him missing or hitting a Big Joe grass cutter. I don't think Woods is the answer tbh but he can at-least hold the ball up and allow the team to play off him and get higher up the pitch - I hope. Maybe him with Max and Willock off him would work - god knows. Far from ideal but looks like we are running short on options and the initial feel goo factor is dying off. Hope I'm wrong and we sign Botman, Digne, Fofana & Azmon I'd take Jon Dahl back right now.

I just hope this is not Howe's idea and worry about upsetting the existing squad. Seems some of these signings are definitely his suggestions or young guys who will stay under the 100k. Every manager we have says what a great set of lads they are. My old Sunday league team were a great set of lads, most were shite at football. It's time to upset the holiday camp and if they they don't want to graft to earn their place and a pay increase then it's time to fuck off! I see Wood as squad player, I think he'll be solid and help us get up the pitch. If nothing else score some corners. But we need some talent too, big game players who can win games. That takes you over 100K unfortunately. This is a monumental week for all involved.

I know little about Wood, but if he's joined by a younger, more skilful, pacy forward Id get him. Be nice to have someone to hold up the ball, bully the defender and maybe get on the end of crosses. He's a unit, which we've not had in a while. Horses for courses right now. 15m Max.

Newcastle United vs Watford: 15/01/22 @ 3pm (No UK TV)

It's madness really to think the club has only Gayle as a recognised striker. Sums up the last 14 years in a nutshell. -
Gotta stick with him. Love his honesty and work ethic. Just hope he gets a little luck and a few decent players to help him. Clubs still rotting and he's ageing by the day. Poor bugger! We've gotta give him our full backing. At least until the Summer.

Aye I can't really remember the last game that was enjoyable tbh. More of the same I imagine and probably a 1-1 draw. Depending who we sign. I'd be tempted to offer Shearer a game at this rate. -

Win or Bust. It's the mother of all 6 pointers. -
Utter crap. I watched him today in detail. Every time a teammate got the ball he was almost 2 yards away from them to the side and never really tried to make an angle or a run forward. He looked half arsed, running in slow motion on his heels, as if he'd been out last night as was feeling the effects. He had zero urgency, fight or drive to change the game from his first touch to his last. No hunger, no idea. He does not care one jot about this club, we were solely a cash prize.

I do agree Murphy was the only one looking like scoring. For all his limitations he seems to be one of very few that can strike a ball and is not afraid to have a shot. Why take him off I'm really not sure... -
Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)
Oregon_Geordie replied to Disco's topic in Football
Let me be clear. I would keep him, if he decides he wants to work hard and improve and most importantly play for the team This is Newcastle United, not a fucking one man circus. He needs to shape up and realise he's as bad as the rest. He's been mainly dreadful most the season and an absolute nightmare to play with I'm sure. -

I think 3 assists in 19 is pretty dreadful for guy that has the ball most of the time and often on the edge of the opponents box. Maybe I expect a little more. I think he's a show pony who is out for himself and not the team. I actually think for every one piece of magic, there are 99 pieces of zero! Opinions though I guess. I'd swap him for Origi and play Murphy and Fraser on the wings. -

https://fbref.com/en/players/2b16cb1a/Allan-Saint-Maximin I must be reading this wrong then. Also 4 & 3 is not above 5. 3 Assists in 19 is shite btw for a guy that has the ball for 90% of the time we do. -

He has never hit above 5 for goals or assists in a Season in his Career. He's 25 in March. Aside from step overs and bandages he's nothing unusual. Wayne Routledge had better output. -

People even comparing the two. HBA had everything but the right attitude and a manager who trusted him. -

Should stick to cards, or maybe try tap dancing? -
I think he's a smart guy. His comments this week about not upsetting the squad and around wages, makes you wonder if he's already aware of how 'delicate' this bunch we have are. The core group have been here for 6-7 years thriving and hiding within the mediocrity that we all knew. A nice cushy number, making great money, doing very little. average players making above average money - win, win! It's going to be difficult to strike a balance after today. Even the interview from Hayden suggests there is a attitude within the camp of complacency. The new regime and that attitude don't mix. So it's time etc shape up or fuck off! I'd get them all in tomorrow. Make Tripper Captain and ask each player, who wants to fight or who wants a taxi. If they want out, let's replace them in the 3 weeks or start giving the kids a game. I'd even be tempted to tell them, they wont be let go but will stay with the reserves for their contract duration. Fuck the cowards!
