Class act, but still to hit top gear and consistently - B+

Was at Anfield last night. Noticed how much we rely on patterns of play with Howe, 2 and 3 players working in units to manipulate space. Joelinton is probably the most pivotal player and consistently involved in those units. Left back and left wing. CD and CM. CM and Attack. Last nights change in tactics, broke so many of those familiar patterns and we just looked disconnected and unbalanced. They on the other hand looked devastating and so well drilled on the break - it was fluid and telepathic. Our one devastating player was injured and replaced with one of around six players I would consider past there best, or their best lower EPL standard. Our better players were poor also. Lastly, the game was crying out for subs about 5-10 minutes before their second goal, but again we waited til the goal to react - that's on Howe, again. It seems to happen every week lately.

Was my first time there last night also. Agree, whatever you feel about their team and their fans arrogance. It's a proper football ground. Agree, really impressed by the lighting and classic yet modern feel. Huge steep stands and not over complicated or flashy. Great atmosphere in patches also, but certainly no better than the Arsenal Semi. The stadium does help keep the sound in though. That along with some strong songs, rather than chants did make it feel quite special and certainly not at all scripted, like most clubs are becoming. It felt real and quite special, so I can see why folk speak so highly of it.

First half, possibly one of the most polished left back performances I've seen. Especially for a kid. Fantastic, deserved his MOTM.

Just in from the match. Didn't expect much after the last few home games in the League - would have taken a draw against a very well drilled team. Weird bloody game. Nervy first 10-15, ridiculous 30 minutes with some deadly finishes and a slice of luck...and they all went home at half time. Sunday League second halve, but a huuuuuuuuugggggeeeeeee win! Just a pity we didn't continue to build confidence for Wednesday and thereafter. Special mention to all the fan's leaving with 10 minutes to go - why? I don't understand... Onwards...Still on for a hugely successful season. HWTL's.

That Manchester United team is shocking. Outside of Bruno, there's zero there. Hoijlund is utter shite also - Donkey. Would love them to slide down to the championship, unlikely but would be lovely to see.

On the money.

I'm fucking knackered and I don't get 8 days off. We're back to 1 a week now. No excuses for showing up when it suits. Too many were off the pace today, more through a lack of effort than being tired. Did'nt expect much else, but the gulf in effort game to game is worrying.

And consistency of effort. Away from the big night home games with flags and 52000 egging you on full voice. One too many are going through the motions too often. It's not acceptable, but yes we need some players.

He's the only one that's turned the last 3-4 league games.

Scary front line still, but we should be testing their back 4 and Gundogan (who's looked leggy all season). Going to say a score draw but would be delighted with a 0-4 win HWTL's!
