  1. I've gone for a 7. We've got some great players (Trippier and Bruno) in but hard not to be a touch disappointed not to get another forward player in. Additionally, at one point it appeared we were going to get both Botman and Carlos so to go from them to Burn is underwhelming. Targett, Burn and Wood are sensible signings that should do a job though. On the whole, I feel we had the ability to eliminate the threat of relegation completely and we haven't done that imo. A Zapata instead of Wood along with either a DM or CB and we'd be safe no problem. I still fancy us to stop up but it'll be close. Still happy with the business done though.
  2. Isn't it always? Other than team line ups all of his other "knowledge" is vague beyond belief.
  3. At this stage, surely Origi is a no brainer? Ekitike deal is dead, we could easily miss out on Lingard too. Origi offers pace in behind and with only 6 months left on his desk the feel wouldn't be much over 10 million.
  4. Deals are hard enough to do on deadline day when both clubs and the player are all on board. If he's not sold on the move then we're really up against it.
  5. I'd be disappointed to see him head out on loan. He performed well in a couple games prior to his injury and he's a much better option than Ritchie.
  6. He is quick across the ground though and that is something we definitely lack.
  7. If we get Burn, Targett and Ekitike we'd have done well regardless. Problem area for years has been CF, we now have Wilson, Wood and Ekitike. Same at LB, we now have Dummett, Targett, Lewis and Burn as options. Bruno is a clear upgrade in CM. We have a top, top RB with Manquillo a solid understudy. CB is my only area of concern. Burn is a much needed body in that area and is an upgrade on Clark. I'm just not sure how much of an upgrade he is. But, so many of our goals against have come from having Krafth, Murphy and Ritchie at full back and Trippier and Targett should definitely address those issues.
  8. If Targett, Burn and Ekitike are sorted early I can definitely see us going for a big name CB or CM on top of trying for Lingard.
  9. I'm a 5. Our signings to date are astute and should see us safe, it's just that we have no margin for error having played more games than nearly everyone around us. We can't afford a Clark vs Norwich moment or a Darlow/Joelinton vs Brentford. We'll be back to 2nd bottom by the time we next play but with 2 very winnable home games to come. If we get 6 points we'd be riding a wave with 3 wins on the bounce and a good window behind us. On the flip side, if we don't win either game the window will be quickly forgotten. I get why people are saying 0 or 1 due to our signings but no team is too good to go down and regardless of optimism off the pitch, the league table doesn't lie. Until we're out of the bottom 3 I can't score it lower than a 5.
  10. Saw that, was hoping we'd hijack it!
  11. Unlikely to happen but another CB, CM and CF and we'd be garanteed safety. I think a CF and just either a CB or CM would do it. Targett isn't an exciting one and neither is Burn, but they give plenty of depth on the left hand side and will always give you a 7/10 performance. Zapata or Nunez are the dream tomorrow.
  12. Why would Man Utd charge us extortionate figures for Lingard but not Henderson? Don't see this one happening for that reason alone.
  13. Yeah but it's not football manager or fifa as you've been pointing out every other day on here. We ain't signing Bruno plus 5. It'll be Bruno plus 3 more if we're lucky imo.
  14. Would be an underwhelming end to the window as I'm not sure how much of an improvement Nketiah and Burn are. Still, at least they are addressing gaps in the squad. If Nketiah signs you'd have to assume Gayle is off.
  15. Could see us going for Origi if Liverpool sign Diaz.
  16. Getting Bruno seems to have removed a lot of the stress and pressure for the remainder of the window. Next priority is clearly a CB. Although Burn is an upgrade on Clark he will be underwhelming compared to Carlos and Botman. Also, he does very little to reduce an already ageing back line. Not sure where we go on a CB though. I'm really not sold on Burn, Phillips, Rodon, Tarkowski etc. Webster would be good but no chance of signing a top CB from another PL club this late in the window. With Bruno here though, I feel like regardless of what happens we can enjoy the rest of the window as we'll definitely sign a CB, they just won't be of the Botman/Carlos pedigree.
  17. Apparently their statement has something to do with them being a PLC.
  18. With those 4 I'd say 6.5/10 so definitely not a failure and probably just enough to see us safe. Add a CB of Carlos/Botman quality and it goes to an 8. On top of the above, add in Lingard and it goes to a 9. Zapata or an equivalent on top of all the above and it's a 10.

    Dan Burn

Not a huge fan of this deal. He primarily plays on the left side of a back 3 but Howe clearly prefers a back 4. He also doesn't address our lack of pace at the back. He is an upgrade on Clark though.
  20. Ornstein has confirmed it now. It's happening!
