Ugghh, we really don't need Choudhury No idea who we do need, but looking around other clubs signings recently, players like Bissouma, Douglas Luiz, Barkley, Sansom, Doucoure all players that should be in within our ambitions that have gone to other clubs we weren't even linked too. State of investment in our midfield in recent years has been a disgrace. We've just given up buying talented players, that even for whatever reason don't work here, go elsewhere and show we were on right track signing them at least. Shelvey - signed in 2016 when we in desperation for anything. Thought it was a s*** signing then, everything he is being slammed for now was fair and obvious criticism of his game back then. Legitimately the belated and far inferior Cabaye replacement in the midfield then. Hayden - signed as a squad player for Championship season. Fair play to the lad for kicking on, but he's limited to say the least. Hendrick - free signing from Burnley Longstaffs - academy then we've had; Saivet - total mystery this signing, smells of something dodgy behind the scenes. Diame - free signing for Championship Bentaleb - ughhh, total dosser and waste of whatever loan fee paid for him Only midfielder that's been brought into the club with obvious talent and shown to be good enough was Merino. Stand by Wijnaldum being a good signing. Obvious he was a quality player and had talent, but Schteve couldn't motivate him to brush his teeth, yet still scored fair amount. Then you go way back to the likes of Sissoko, Cabaye, Tiote under Carr; even Cabella, Thauvin - all obviously talented and quality players.

Are there any facts as behind why he's been appointed? All seems a bit too tinfoil hat to think it some master plan to appoint him to undermine Bruce. Could legitimately see Bruce saying he wants a new face in his coaching team, and it's not that far fetched Jones would be one of a few names Bruce probably suggested. His appointment shortly followed Bruce coming out saying 'he's doing it his way now'...
-
Defiantly, but the two aren't mutually exclusive. Neither should have given extensions, but short-sightedness irks me more with Ritchie. Shelvey is the first name on the team sheet when fit, or even half-fit, and see no rumours of him leaving. He was the only player scoring in the side at the time (he should have been anway, plus a striker should have been). Ritchie was playing, fair enough, but not first choice LB, or LW, only when we tried to play WBs. We gave him a new deal, then went out next window and brought a new LB/WB Lewis, and Fraser.
-
Didn't Wigan replace Bruce with Martinez way back? Wheres this talk of Martinez coming from anyway, he's Belgium manager heading to Euros
-
Bournemouth fans love Ritchie. Last I checked they seemed to think it'd be impossible unless we were paying out a fair whack of his remaining contract, or if he took a significant pay cut. It seems ridiculous that he was given a new contract that now ago now, and the club will likely end up having to put its hand in its pocket for him to go play for someone else. If he wasn't given that extension, he'd still be under contract now right? We've literally given him a whole new deal that'll be paid to him playing for another side. This club is monumentally badly at doing anything important like contracts and transfers.

Aye there we go. Total s*** for brains this bloke. Stumbled not so far back in this thread him saying out of nowhere he 'didn't think Dubravka would get a big European move' - missed that one at the time He's always been a bit of a plonker hasn't he. Plenty managers called him out on his attitude/commitment. Monk publicly called him lazy, Rafa clearly had words. Had his spat of kicking people when he turned up here didn't he. Had that pop at Fergie when he was subbed off playing for Liverpool. Would have loved to have been a fly on some dressing rooms when he was at Liverpool, imagine the likes of Carra, Daglish, Gerrard would have torn him a new one more than once Looked like Zidane in the Championship, England rumours came calling for a bit after we came back up, but Rafa had his career on life support. Bruce has turned up, and it's gone now, total mess of a player now.
-
Made some shiteating comment about trying to play try and play it out from the back, compared to hoofing under Rafa. Remember there a compliation on Twitter

Did he speak to BT after match? Switch off BT as soon as final whistle goes. Can't stand that bunch of muppets.

Way it was announced in Arsenal commentary sounded pretty suspicious... Hopefully he's been given sack
-
Listening to Arsenal Southampton game on TSport... Interjected commentary with 'we'll be hearing from Steve Bruce at HT' in a ominous and suspicous tone. Like they knew something he's said, we yet don't...

Wouldn't say 23 is particularly young any more. Over 100 senior apperances, 40+ PL, 18 International caps. Can't be using 'he's young' to try and mitigate him being pretty average, and having a shit season.
-
Subconsciously knows he doesn't deserve to be managing at PL level.

Bound to have spat at him. Not going to see a reaction like him jumping up if Rodrigo has just mouthed off and called him a puta. Needs to be an investigation, retrospective ban if it can be concluded he has spat at him. Even with VAR can’t expect anyone to pick that up. Even taking the virus out of it, it’s disgusting stuff. Current situation more so. Don’t know if you can draw parallels, but say Schar/anyone comes out after and says Rodrigo racially abused him, there would rightly be hell to pay. Obviously totally different, but spitting sub-human act. Can’t get away with the ref didn’t spot it line is what I’m saying -
So way off the mark, failure to see anything than what he's just watched. Yes, it was a better showing, and however Bruceycliche it sounds - there were actual signs of improvement etc.. The thick moron can't analyse the game, and put the above into any sort of context and see it was an actual basketball match at times, and Fabian strolling past Bamford then through their hold midfield is not actually a sign he's motivated by Bruce getting sack or not. That second half, however completely bonkers has given Bruce even more rope to hang himself with for Everton next. Perfect scenario, we lost still, so closer to drop - inevitable pressure still there. Two highlights two massive points though - 1 We've 'shown' everyone we can play, so where was that last 18months ffs? Even more angry to think we couldn't show that reaction against Brentford, Sheff U, Fulham, even Arsenal in cup, Liverpool or Leicester!! Why's it taken this long to get any sort of reaction from the side. Why has Bruce allowed us to play like turds for 18months? Even if this was a hangover from 'doing it his way' and that's taken a match or two to kick in, why has it taken 15 months to decide whatever before wasn't working? 2 Anything but a performance against Everton that has us showing similar bottle, energy and courage when passing and running forward it's totally 1 step forward, 5 back... 2.1 Can't go back to a 5 backline now Brucie, sit deep and let Tom Davies give Jeff the runaround, Yery Mina play in his slippers against Wilson etc. etc. Looking forward to after Everton when Bruce has landed in the fire from the frying pan he's been sat in last months. We'll likely be back to same reactive, men behind the ball approach and Everton won't let us get a hold in the game unlike Leeds, so we'll have no answer going forward. Humpty Dumpty has now set himself up for an even bigger fall :D
-
First time I've enjoyed watching us for as long as I can remember that, first time in ages I've had that feeling off willing the side on to try and get something for the game; instead of total apathy if we equalise or concede more. Just can't understand that game whatsoever. We've dropped to such low levels, that watching the second half actually feels worlds better than what has come for months. Don't think we'd have been able to produce that against any other side in the league though. Leeds go man-for-man, so it's allowed to get some confidence in, and regain the balls to be courageous with the ball. Other sides would be a lot more organised, and it would have probably seen the resort back to the cowardly sideways-backwards-Darlow Launch ball.
-
Anyone notice Bielsa at the end there, shaking hands with Brucey... holding him by the shoulders and clearly saying 'idiota! why don't you play like this before..."

Leeds playing like their stuck on Overload on FM Any other side in the league would have taken the sting out, and sucked life out of it. That being said, players seem to have actually bust a gut for once and forced things to happen -

Crowd would actually be well up this. Totally disproving Bruce's attitude, approach and his perceived expectations. Proving to Bruce that sitting 10 men behind the ball is not the answer -

Still totally damning on Bruce like. Opens up more questions? Where has this last half hour been last 3 months? Going 1-0 down against Brentford, or Sheff U Not even winning either -

Gave the football fans wanted to see... Bollocks did you. Anyone but Leeds would be able to control the game. They turned Man City into a basketball game ffs Imagine Burnley letting this get into end to end. That’s the games we need to be busting a gut to get forward -
