  1. Warren Barton on TalkSPORT talking great stuff - worthwhile going back and listening to it 22:15 onwards, doubt it’ll be a Jamie O’Hara hot take or Jim White exclusive stuck on their YouTube Players thinking From day one we need to grind out results, is that what you think of me? One fight too many for Bruce. He feels like worlds against him, but fans just want a side to go out and be on front foot and play. Doing himself no favours. With Bobby, taking over from Ruud, didn’t have the greatest players but he but us in best mindset. Would never go away to Southampton and think we can grind out a draw here. Jonjo Shelvey doesn’t warrant two players around him doing running for him. He’s doing nothing on the ball to deserve that.
  2. Remember hearing players that played for SAF say that whenever they equaliser in Fergie time they’d go back into the dressing room up beat, and it would be like a win. Potentially great point in the end, certainly more valuable than a shitfest 0-0 against WBA. Lascelles scoring too, gives that shot of adrenaline into the dressing room that’ll be invaluable going into Brighton game. Given up hope Bruce’s talents keeping us in this division, it’ll be any fortitude and togetherness within the dressing room that can grind out results with those front three coming back to score goals.
  3. Aye, well put. Constantly seeing people say they hope we get relegated to even hoping we crash and burn. Can’t get my head round it, more worried about stature of the club over next 10-15 years rather than having a relegation on the records just to stick it up Ashley/Bruce. If we go down this season, can’t see us bouncing back. Even if we do, it’ll set us back another 3-5 years irrespective if Ashley leaves. At mid-worst, be up to 10 years out of Premier League, or we just never recover like Leeds did, Forest, Derby, Sheff Wed...
  4. SMB Michael Gray relegating Brighton on TalkSPORT. Says we’re staying up, so are Fulham. Brighton can’t score so are going down. Staying up on 33 points with draw away at Fulham

    Paul Dummett

Thought he was class tonight, still a traction engine when it comes to overlapping his winger, but that’s never been his game. Looked the best and most assured out of side out there. If by some miracle he can stay fit, and play until end of season - with Manquillo hopefully picking up where he left off, defensively we’re decent enough
  6. Couldn’t give a second thought to Bruce regarding that equaliser. Lascelles being the person to score could be massive. I see that as potentially massive for the squad to bring themselves together to stay up for their own pride, rather than bothering to play for Bruce. That ship has sailed, none of them give a f*** about him I’d imagine. Captain Optimism here but Jamal scoring like that might bring the squad closer together. He’s one of few leaders we have, and went through misery of going down before. He knows the best as to what it takes to unite a group to stay up, given that Rafa’s form would have kept us up if we ever had games spare. Bruce has relegated more sides than he’s kept up. Regardless of his ability we think anymore, Carroll can’t be happy and have any faith left in Bruce’s decisions throwing him on for another 2mins tonight. Another senior pro he’s outcast. Hayden coming off looked fed up, shaking his head in dismay. First sign of any courage I’ve seen in Gayle in weeks - him running over and demanding that throw in. Fair play to him. Said he was only looking after himself for a new club after his WBA performance. Gayle playing left, he’s going to be questioning wtf he’s doing wide. Equally Fraser through the middle. Both these players have played at top level long enough, and know the game to see their both playing in each other’s positions. Arse backwards. Great result in the end, but it’s done nothing to improve Bruce’s position. Couldn’t care now whether he’s sacked, more concerned about limiting his debilitating effect on the squad.
  7. As laughable as a player he is now, Bruce is doing himself no favours in just throwing him on for 2mins tonight, and 20seconds last weekend. Just going to be pissing off, and making yet another senior pro in the dressing room question the decision making.
  8. Created the big chance for Joelinton against Wolves. Can’t believe he didn’t even get any minutes against West Brom. He’s that classical enigma wide player. Barely any end product, but capable of some mercurial brilliance once or twice a season. Surely a better option than Gayle wide left. Gayle’s not even productive through the middle.
  9. 81 minutes too late Manquillo’s probably a longer throw in knowing Bruce’s tactical logic
  10. Substitution would have been canny a while ago, probably make a second and third now. Andy Carroll on for a few more seconds tonight. Throw him his appearance bone
  11. Hopefully knocked some sense back into Shelvey. Brain dead cockrat
  12. I’ve got a longer through than Emil Krath for fuck sake. Thought even Bruce would have evolved beyond 1997 and stopped bothering with hurling a throw in somewhere towards a near post
  13. Guaranteed Barkley been told to play off in behind any gaps between defensive and midfield - areas Shelvey will leave.
  14. Defending well in fairness, just no quality going forward. Shelvey playing the Jan Molby role and not leaving the middle of the pitch. Playing like he’s in his mid 40s
  15. Its as tactically inept as playing Cisse on the wing Still got PTSD from sitting in a rainy Southampton home end watching Tiote launch balls out to Cisse at every opportunity
  16. Best plan for attack here is try and get as many corners as possible, just to get Clark up from the back.
  17. - Meh, expected worse. Partly down to Villa not really turning up. - Classic performance under Bruce. Devoid of any quality in final third, rushed and nobody on same wavelength. No team cohesion, just a collection of players - mostly not up to par - trying to piece things together as they go. Only a Villa defensive balls up will see us getting a goal, or a VAR Spurs like shout. - Thought Villa might have had more about them, can count ourselves fortunate that Grealish and Barkley and playing for them. - Reminds me of Leicester home, binfire first half, but just needed opposition to wake up and we hand no answer.
  18. Comms waffling on about Shelvey rimming Bruce, best man manager he’s ever played for! Someone who played for Kenny Daglish at Liverpool with Gerrard and Carragher in the side. All you need to know
  19. Aye, doesn’t work at all when we’ve build up a passage of play in attack. Can see the idea a couple of times when we’ve tried to break quick. Gayle starting wide then running into that channel between Konsa/El Mo. Just falls down because we can’t transition properly, and Fraser is anonymous
  20. Mings shouldn’t be anywhere near at Euro’s squad if he’s being given the run around by Joelinton
  21. Couldn’t be any worse playing as an actual QB. Would at least be a laugh seeing him get demolished by some 400lb fridge!
  22. Dummett’s got some pep in his step tonight, best player out there!
  23. Decent from Dummett there. If that was Lewis he’d be the one hooning it into the Leazes
  24. He’s Still living in 2016, used to love his Gayle link up in Championship
