Yep, Steve Nickson needs to play a bigger role, he’s got an eye for talent.

Agree we need intelligent scouting and think we’ve got it, could have Ederson & Mamardashvili for £55m, but somebody decided against going with the scouts recommendation.

Their fans seem to think they’ll pay £80-90m…Think we would be happy with that.

I trust our scouts to spend wisely. We identified Ederson last year and he was available for £25m but we decided not to spend. We also were heavily linked to Mamardashvili before he signed for Liverpool but we once again decided against spending £30m on him. The scouts are identifying real talent abroad for decent prices, we just have to hope we back them.

Dean Huijsen Is the one we should have signed in the summer. Went to Bournemouth for £15m in the summer and we were linked. He’s tall, wins a lot of headers, got good pace and decent on the ball. He’s still a bit raw but will turn out to be top class.

I would say they are a reasonable level, it’s the £70m Marc Guehi’s we should be avoiding. £35 million players are fine, it’s the level below the elite but very high on potential.

Dibling, Evan Ferguson and Chris Rigg should be what we’re targeting. They will cost £100 million but they would be part of our side for the next decade. Similar signings to the Tino/Hall level.
