  1. Pathetic No justification, no setting the record straight, just a thin skinned grudge. I hope Dean takes him down with a sweeping tackle during his next interview.
  2. Kevin Keegan driving the bus directly onto the Town Moor and doing wheel spins from what I've heard.
  3. I think the more we keep other teams out of the CL the more damage we do to them and their status, and correspondingly the more we build our own, both for our profile and for new recruits. Maybe I'm being greedy, but I'd love us to go on a run now safe in the knowledge that we can beat anyone on our day. Hopefully it gives them the thirst for more. I do get the worry about how far we can strengthen the squad in the summer and so how far we'd be able to actually compete, but it's a chance and I'd love us to take it. You can't always be thinking 3 seasons ahead, you need to move forward every season, so hopefully this is the springboard for what we do next.
  4. I think it's more a collective exhalation of breath at all of the misery the likes of him brought, whilst finally flushing down a parasite through the u-bend and then thinking "we knew it was never supposed to be like that". Like having had a bad ex, I suppose. I'm ready to believe again now.
  5. Likewise. Never mind, still too happy, I've already said I wouldn't go earlier so therefore I'll just butt out of this thread now and genuinely hope everyone who does go has a great time.

Random observation, seems like BDB is the only one playing with much confidence. I'd quite like one of the midfielders to actually take charge of the match
  7. Think I'll pass on this one. Unless of course the secretly built new stadium emerges from underneath the earth during it or something.
  8. BG - I don't want to go there. We didn't want you anyway (sob).
  9. He's a class act. What a ride we've had with him. Despite having no first team strengthening these last few windows, we've finally won something and now we have a genuine shot at the champions league AGAIN. It's not just the results it's the man management, the player development and how he carries himself in representing the club. Only one score for him.
  10. There were times last season that he looked totally comfortable in the league, and times when he looked like what he was - a talented young player needing time and minutes being played through necessity. This season it's even harder to judge due to lack of minutes, so I can completely get why people have him as a D - was thinking that way myself. But I've landed on a C, as he's not someone I'm worried about when he does come in, or comes off the bench. So, in my mind a solid pl player right now, with the potential to develop and possibly go up a ranking.
  11. Honestly can't say enough about what this giant has achieved. I'm still struggling for the right words. After the summer with Staveley going, I was genuinely worried about whether his heart was still in it. Silly me. Because then, he just rose above all that and if you're a player or a fan you're now going to follow this guy right to the end. I've never seen us turn up like that when it mattered and just shrug off the likes of Gordon and Hall being out, no excuses no pity party. 70 years wiped out not in an instant, but in 100 minutes of controlled yet emotional play against one of the best teams you'll face. Let's get champions league now and see what he can do next. He's the man, no question.
  12. If Tonali is an A, so is Bruno. Genuinely think he could play for any team, and he also has that X factor in his enthusiasm and attitude. One of my favourite players ever to pull on the shirt and you really wouldn't want to be playing against him. So, A then.

    Nick Pope

I am coming around to this view.

A cup final isn't just a one off game because you need to get there in the first place, which we did by trouncing some of the best teams in the league. And then, to actually win it, to be set up properly not just tactically but mentally with the occasion, the opponents and the ghosts of the past. You are welcome to your opinions of course, but I don't think that any manager who has just done what he has - lifted the curse, changed the mentality and just beaten one of the best teams in the world right now despite no reinforcements should ever be in any doubt. Him and his team have just broken through a wall I never thought I'd see be broken. I'm not even sure what to expect next because I still can't comprehend it. But I cannot think of a single manager that I would prefer to him and I think he'll carry on proving everyone wrong. He's Newcastle through and through now and I'll be on his journey and love every minute of that rollercoaster. But aye, on topic, Pope was immense and that save tilted it our way just as much as Dan Burn's colossal header. Which are both right up there with anything I've ever seen in terms of a memory that will never leave.
  15. He's a squad player now. He wouldn't get past any of our current midfield 3 barring injuries or suspension. But there's no shame in that given that it's probably one of the best midfield 3's in the league. For us then, right now a D.
  16. Just watched the full match again this morning. Then I've been reading about how Eddie was thinking of his late mum at full time, and how he ignored his media duties to go charging towards our fans with the cup. Still in dreamland and this guy is a legend to me forever now. What a man and what a manager.
  17. England's own league cup final winning Dan Burn, you say? There's only one score for him.
  18. I still can't believe this
  19. I actually cried today when we won that. Didn't realise I still cared so much after the Ashley years so Eddie goddamn Howe needs a statue for bringing my love of football back. Legend
  20. Think there's only one club that doesn't want us to beat Liverpool. Come on!

Some sweet chin music right there
  22. A low C for me. He's good to have in the squad and has some definite qualities, but at the moment right now for us he's more of a D. I.e. good to have in the squad, but you'd hope for better. But on balance I'm sticking with C since D seems a bit harsh because I think I'm judging it a bit based on a bad run of injuries and lack of availability.

Because I have no background in architecture, planning regulations, design or construction, I'm going to throw in a pointless guess too - 9 years, to align with the 2034 world cup.
