  1. If we have exhausted all options... Let's just build it on the Tyne. Whoever kicks the ball in has to get it!
  2. I love a good building as much as the next man...but to be honest if I was going to bring someone into Newcastle to show the architecture and history of the city I would walk from the Quayside, Grey Street up to St James Park. However I wouldn't be taking them around the East Stand and showing them a row of terraced housing or unused tennis courts in the park. If it was not for the ground I bet very few would even know of the street and we would have had tower blocks or a run down shopping centre in front of them by now.
  3. Still think that's a winner for me... Replace east stand roof with a second tier ( so no higher then what it is now) But then have a see through back and roof to allow light through. Replace the outside with a nicer front ( even match the leazers terrace build rather then 70s concrete) To be fair we might need to support that roof with a few pillers lol
  4. I think we could.. a whole lost generation of fans between the Ashley years and family/ kids / mates not being able to pick up season tickets together.
  5. Sure I read the cost of the new stadium does not impact FFP? In that case I'm not sure if the costs for limited return would really stop them pressing ahead? I bet over time we will see the inside of the main stand change from a social club vibe to a world class environment. Christ they might even do a spurs with a bar at roof level if they are updated the gallowgate. Either way it will be better then our only upgrades being a giant Sports Directs logo on top of the stand
  6. God just spent 5 mins on Twitter and the place makes me sick... From Neville, to the fans and finally his statement. Ok the original charge has been dropped but do the police and CPS not have enough evidence for assault? It's like the twat beating his partner up is being swept under the carpet?? Too close to home but this cycle never stops with a happy outcome.
  7. So I know it's still guess work but if thats fake someone has put a lot of effort into it lol. My concern is I qualify for the first period but my two sons don't have the points. Do I wait until Period 3 or wave to them from a different part of the stadium??
  8. Surely if this is legit or sustainable other clubs would have quickly followed the Chelsea transfer model? Not like City, PSG or the Spanish big two missing out on sneaky PFF tricks
  9. When do clubs needs to name their squads? Just interested to know how many of the Chelsea and Forest players will miss the cut. Imagine if clubs had to put them into a loan pool for another week... And players could move where they want as their home club f'kd them over. Would at least stop Chelsea hording players.
  10. But maybe a positive in that he gets a break after the world cup restart. Long term that might help towards the end of the season.
  11. Are these two random planes / helicopters or something linked to our Board/ club. Sorry just want to grasp on any little bit of hope lol
  12. No but the Chronicle are typing up the best free transfer deals as we speak!
  13. So this time tomorrow night... Sign a new CM or a place in the League Cup Final? The latter for me !
  14. It's not the Ashley years and I've got faith that we are trying. I'm sure we will either try to buy a one that fits our long term plan or look to loan a player who will provide cover for now. If we don't... how many games has Shelvey played this year, 3…? And we now have Gordon to allow a cm to be pushed back into the centre.
  15. Before now it felt like a slow evolution of the squad... with the likes of Shelvey, Ritchie, Frazer etc running out their contracts But thank f'ck for Nottingham Forest and the free spending ways! Not the worst player we have had but he is still tainted by the Ashley years
  16. What if it's due to a club asking about his availability? Maybe it's to stop the transfer or to increase / remove the buy out clause from his original contract? Would it not be better to get it out of the way now when he is in a positive place?
  17. Everton have played 20 league games He has played 16 and has played 90 mins in most of them (3 as sub) But facts get in the way of the truth
  18. I wonder if we are just worried about being ahead of our long term plan. As a fan it would be great to get into the champions league this year but do we have the revenue / FFP in place to really improve all aspects of our squad competing on both fronts next season? However Once the new sponsorship / strip deals start to land and we have guaranteed a top 4 place more transfers will open up to us in the summer? At the moment we are so close but you are still selling the dream to the 50 million plus player.
  19. Not sure if people watched the video of him chased down the road in his car... But knowing the streets around the ground, the supposed threats against the board, players etc why would you want to go through that every home game? I bet you half the team would leave if clubs come in for them! Also he is not the first or the last player to go down this route... Even Messi did it Barcelona the first time he wanted to leave.
  20. 1990 Newcastle v Leicester 2-4 down at 77 mins 5-4 up at 87 mins Quinn and McGee on ? that day and I think it was my first game in a seated area.
  21. Maybe but look at our goal last night... isak knew where and when to play the cross. Even looked up 3 times before he did it. But then he is a level above.
  22. So our go to move seems to be tight passing across the right side of the box and the ball being played across. These are the ones I think he should be poaching... But then again it is a lottery where longstaff's or miggys crosses will end up.
  23. We are on a slower squad building journey then our league position suggests You either have to dream of the likes of Bellingham or Rice or accept we are taking it step by step at the clubs pace. But I think Gordon is good enough to strengthen our midfield pool.
