  1. All I can think of is players younger then him are physically on their last legs. This impacts both you mentally and physically.

Then add the fact you are 33 and don't have the same ability to recharge your batteries between games... your body then  starts to do things your brain isn't expecting.

The horrible thing for Tripps is that this has happened in a one month period.

I always remember Keegan deciding after a cup game against Liverpool that he wanted to go out on a high and not play through any personal decline.

No chance, he’s more than good enough already. He would be absolutely lethal in a possession based team.

Just let me believe that's the reason he is still with us... The more the media big him up the cheaper that sell on fee sounds!

Let's just keep the one footed, slow paced, dodgy tackling mad man here...

Not many teams in world football that this lad doesn’t start for. So, so good.

A yard of pace away from the top, top clubs.

Which I don't really mind as it means it might put them off paying big money for him!

  4. Not sure Ashworth would fit Man U's philosophy.

They are not going to do a Brighton and bring in raw gems to develop and sell etc.

They are shopping at the other end of the market and buying high end names.

I mean it's failed so far but Radcliffe is not going to come in and buy cheap either

  5. For a bit of balance to the argument... If you were Wilson / isak do you think you would be happy with Miggy on the wing?

Would you even bother busting a gut to get in front of your man when you know he will never cross the ball?

I was actually keen to see how him and Gordan would get on when they switched wings but it only lasted minutes

  6. Sometimes it's just fate how you break through.

Burn gets injured, it would have been  Targett stepping in.

Targett got injured, Hall could have stepped in.

But then Tino had a run of man of the match performances and now the door is blocked.

We could have rested either fullback to give him game time but to be honest there was no easy game to select.

If he had played in front of Tino or Tripps and we lost the board would have been up in uproar.

I don't agree our midfield is fine as it is. At home yes, but not away.

We were completely overrun and cut apart at Brighton, Wolves, Everton and Spurs. It started from about 30 seconds into the game on Sunday. Even Everton ran straight through it whenever they wanted

Not sure it was Neville who said it on Sunday but I also think the problem was not being able to keep the ball for any length of time.

I hate 433 when we are under the cosh as it never seems to revert to 451 and block those gaps and keep some retention

Woodgate was the best CB I'd seen in my time but I think this guy edges him tbh

I would say pound for pound Schar edges it.

Just for his longevity and comeback story post Bruce.

How do we think he'll react on Thursday? Crowd are going to be on his back all game, and are going to make it really hostile for him. It's going to take a really mature performance from him.

If it was the end of last season, I would say I would be concerned as his head wasn't in the right place.

However this year he has everything he wanted.. we might even lose but he knows he is at the right club.

  10. Philips and to some extent Grealish fall within the same man city bracket as Fabian Delph, Carson etc.

They are there to make up the English quota in the squad, just happens City can afford to spend bucket loads on quality players and then never give them the game time they would get anywhere else in the league.

Are they not questioning the amount they’ve been deducted?

But it has to be a reasonable deterrent.

If there is a line in the sand you can't just say that being 19 million pounds over is ok.

But imagine if it was just three points and it  had went through last season... Everton would have been relegated at Leicester's expense.
