I'm still not sure why people (including Carragher) are questioning the points deduction... The club were pre-warned, continued to spend, still had saleable assets (pickford, Calvert lewin).
It hasn't come out of the blue

Are we blaming on the day ticket holders for the thousands going for drinks at 35 minutes or leaving before the end of the game?
-
Just noticed Luxembourg finished third with 17 points and only lost 3 games out of 10... Mad as they used to be the whipping boys of Europe back in the day

Why this game and not the 3-1 win over Italy which we dominated?
Because this is the type of game we should be forcing on our opponents. We have qualified, we are playing a poor team... What have we learnt from today? Nothing
Let's not pretend Italy was the norm.

Can we not just say it worked instantly and bring his brother in as a ringer?
A couple of weeks with Howe and he will be up to speed!

If that was my cat it would have escaped the box and took down the plane single handedly...
Cats are evil, there can't be any such thing as a support cat in a box lol

The harsh reality is we've failed to score in three of the four games and created very little in those. Cant remember too many shots on target or cleared off the line or excellent saves made by their keepers. Its why it's called the group of death and we've been unlucky with the draw. But especially with injuries.
Howe will be hurting but also using this as a steep learning curve to perfect it for next season in Europe. The games have seemed to be slower and less frantic than the PL and we've struggled to impose our identity and game plan against top quality seasoned CL teams.
But at the same time Longstaff v Milan, two cross bars at Dortmund at home would have had us 3 or 5 more points.
Even if Joe scored last night we might have held on for a draw.
Sometimes it's not the number of chances or even the quality but just somehow getting the ball over the line

We have not been poor the second half... We just needed to finish a couple of the chances and then hang on.
Invaluable lessons learned for future seasons

Trippier assist

How do we move up to Pot 3... So many crap teams in other groups

Livramento looks out of his depth at RW. Not making any runs at all.
Would help if people pass to him? Trippier is passing back as his first option

We don’t go toe to toe with those teams away in fairness
We can't play out normal pressing game as we only have 13 first team players left

The team and the fans feed of each other and once that moment clicks we seem unstoppable.
However the opposite is true and I still think we have another season or two for a few people to shrug off the Ashley years and support without fear.
Dortmund, Southampton second half and man U final felt like there was a collective nervousness resulting in a pause of support when the team needed us the most.

The players in the KSA league who are any good are on grossly inflated wages - I think there will be a problem if we loan one and pay a fraction of their salary
This has happened with players for years..
I'm sure Leeds were paying most of Robbie Fowler's wages when he moved to city

So pleased for the two young lads.. hopefully next time we will be able to sub them on with full confidence that they can perform

Haha .. is that technically a team with no CBS.
Oh this will be either a master class or a disaster!

We're definitely lacking a bit of our old bite.
I think we are managing our fitness and suspensions by holding off our aggressive play.

Feels like a couple of man u players want to be sent off... Like Mike Williamson back in the day

Rashford looks like he has no idea what to do with the football, so low in confidence
I remember him breaking through and he plays the exact same way now.. looked a tough diamond then but he seems lost in himself

Ironic that if the keeper just stood still he would have just caught it !

Makes it more fun when they’re losing though
True.
Will just have to cope and count the number of times Neville has a "woooooahhhh" moment.
