saw the below on Facebook (link wouldn’t embed so have copied the text of the post below and attached the image) Think this would be the most ideal outcome if we were to relocate. https://www.facebook.com/groups/nufctoonarmy/permalink/10161107949178072/ Just for discussion. Possible location for New St James Park? Obviously it would need to get the go ahead from the City Council but if permission was granted we could build a 75,000 stadium close to St James park without moving. Phase 1 (white) would be built while the club played its fixtures unhindered. Phase 2 would see fixtures played at the new stadium while the present one is knocked down. This would have a capacity of around 50,000. Phase 3 would see the remaining part of the new stadium (yellow) being completed. Maybe a one stand “home end” that would hold a safe standing area of 25,000 and on par with the Yelliw Wall at Dortmund? The area in green would see a state of the art parkland that accentuate the listed buildings of Leazes Terrace. The new stadium could be sunk into the ground and designed in a way that would be in keeping with the landscape so it’s totally unobtrusive. The whole stadium could even be under a roof. Not saying it’s the right solution but worthy of discussion?

Just read an Athletic article with Isaac Hayden, and he talked about Howe. Said Howe calls him every few weeks to check in etc, and said Howe is the best coach he has had in terms of man-management. I think for a player who was of the first to leave to make those comments about Eddie just shows what a top top man we have in charge.

Bit of talk on Twitter about a deal for Merino, would definitely take him back.

Yeah, one of the journos said pre match he had a slight knock

https://www.premierleague.com/european-qualification-explained Below is a breakdown of how Premier League clubs can qualify to play in UEFA competitions, along with which tournament each qualified club will play in. Ordinarily, the maximum number of English teams in UEFA competitions is seven. (Please note UEFA reserves the right to change the conditions of the access list so these criteria can be subject to change.) UEFA Champions League (UCL) qualification In normal circumstances, four UCL places are given to English clubs who fulfil the following criteria: The top four teams in the Premier League qualify for the group stage proper. UEFA Europa League (UEL) qualification In normal circumstances, two UEL places are given to English clubs who fulfil the following criteria: The fifth-placed team in the Premier League qualify for the group stage proper. The winners of the FA Cup qualify for the group stage proper. UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) qualification The EFL Cup winners qualify for the playoff stages. Where these qualifications changes a) If the FA Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League, their UEL group stage place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League. b) If the EFL Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League (or top six if (a) happens), their UECL playoff place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League. How does winning UCL/UEL affect qualification? Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Champions League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's competition regardless of their league finishing position. Should a Premier League club win the UEFA Europa League they will automatically qualify for the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League regardless of their league finishing position. If a club win the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League and finish in the top four, their qualification for the UCL through their league position is not transferred to another team.

It depends on cup wins yes, 7th only gets a spot if both of the cup winners finish top I think

I love how quickly he looks to release the ball. Dubravka used to take an age and it really irritated me.

Not sure if I’m missing something but shouldn’t we have been on track for 63 points after Wolves? Says on track for 62 before Wolves then 0 required but 1 point gained, but stays at on track for 62?

Almost a third of the way through the season and we are sitting pretty with 1 defeat, 5 clean sheets and the best defence in the league, and we still haven’t been able to field our strongest 11! Howe has done an incredible job, no reason why we can’t get 7th if we can continue with this level of performance.

He played some lovely cross field balls tonight, it’s nothing new for him but they were class

Is that the white & green or the blue one?

I get where you’re coming from mate but the age/history of the stadium has nothing to do with revenue. if two of the teams we are trying to catch are bringing in sponsorship through stadium naming rights then I don’t see how we can afford to just not do it.
-
3 points at OT is more important than the birth of any child lets be honest
-
The two clubs you mention though Arsenal and Man City both have stadium sponsorship so it must be worth something, and they are 2 of the teams we are trying to catch/over take. fwiw I am not in favour of renaming the stadium completely, but I would be perfectly with something like the Wembley example if it was St James Park powered by …/connected by …
-
It’s not though, for example if it was £30 million a season, and we signed 5 x £30 million players on 5 year contracts, only £30 million would count per year due to amortisation - so its a bit more than a Joe Willock
-
It’s the first of 3 games in 7 days so I would play our strongest team for this one and then make a few changes for Everton at home next Wednesday

I doubt Leicester are happy with the Tielemans situation and I would be suprised if they were happy for it to happen again. Also they were short of money in the summer, yes they sold Fofana however Maddison is probably their most valuable player so I can’t see them keeping him to lose him for free. If he wants to leave and has no intention of signing a new deal then selling him becomes their only option imo.

Might go back in for Harrison Ashby

I do get the uproar around the whole ‘United’ issue, and I make a conscious effort to not call them United, but on the flip side I think man United are referred to as United to differentiate between them and Man City, Newcastle is a one club city so Newcastle identifies us, saying Manchester does not identify them. Certainly for me being from the North West, all you hear is it’s either United or City, never a mention of Manchester.

This guy is class. His crossing into the box especially is such a high standard consistently, that first time delivery today was unbelievable
