If I recall correctly Howe was asked a few weeks ago if he would be playing both Wood and Wilson, and he said no and I’m pretty sure he said something which indicated he was not a fan of having 2 up top. he may have changed in his time away. The formation and tactics against Arsenal was the best I’ve seen is play in a long time, it wouldn’t surprise me if he sticks with that long term.

If we were to sign Tarkowski to replace a squad player like Lascelles/Fernandez, then it makes complete sense. i don’t believe we sign him to be a starter, no way.

We didn’t have a central midfielder on the bench. Moving to a 4231 and Almiron into the 10 position was the only option really.

Played a much better all round game in the last 2 matches. Having Wilson occupy defenders has certainly helped him

Think Eddie’s comments also pretty much confirm we have an option to buy in his loan. usually Eddie would say something like ‘he’s Villas player and we have to respect that, we’ll talk to them over the summer etc’ whereas in this case he’s only talking about speaking with Targett directly, which indicates we don’t need to do anything with Villa.

I’d be shocked if they binned off Howe for Mourinho. Can’t see it happening at all. Would be a backlash from fans, would kill the feel good factor and spirit that Eddie has built. Would be a crazy decision

Unless I’m reading too much into it, pretty much confirms he won’t be here past this season imo. been a great servant to us over the years, wish him well
