  1. Imagine suffering through the shite atmospheres that were the Ashley era only to rob a giant flag.

Another win for them and suddenly the lads are great. At least with us we knew Bruce was the issue. These fuckers flip flop on their players week to week.
  3. The problem I see for Burnley is that they've got a decent gap to close and you're banking on Everton not winning another game. Say Burnley win the 4 easier games of their 9 (Norwich, Watford, Southampton, Us). That's some stellar form and puts them eight points ahead of where Everton are now. Compare that with games for Everton against Brentford (H) and Watford (A) that's a potential six points already. Everton are awful, but in their last two home games they've found a way to beat teams that were either on paper much better or the better side on the night. Their fans are going to be up for those remaining home games and I'd bank on being closer to fist fights then football matches.
  4. Norwich and Watford are done. Burnley join them.
  5. That’s Everton safe then.
  6. Honestly, reading this thread I question if some of you even enjoy football anymore.
  7. He's done a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier for him.
  8. Everton's game tomorrow is a huge indicator for their run in. The loss to Burnley was a major blow, but those games at home are really a last chance to come together and do something.
  9. I can see why Wolves do well away from home - they really stink the place up - but I can't see a drastic improvement over the Nuno Espirito Santo era. It's still a back three, it's still about creating space through the width of the wingbacks, but both of them are so painfully functional they offer nothing. In many ways, that's the most impressive home win of the season for me. The other few have come against teams that weren't in great form or wanted to give us space by being expansive. This lot were the opposite on both counts and we found a way to win. Hoping we can have some real parties in the games that are left at SJP.
  10. He seems to absolutely love it here too which is nice.
  11. Balls of steel, a well timed run, and the smarts to make sure there was clear contact with him and the goalkeeper. That's six points his goals have helped us to get. That's literally all I would have asked for in January.
  12. I'm so pleased for him and I hope he gets his flowers tonight. He had to do a lot defensively, but when he got the ball and had runners ahead he found them with well-timed passes. I try to focus on what these lads are, not what they aren't, and he's an industrious winger that can provide a moment of quality when surrounded by players giving him the chance.
  13. He sets such a high standard that if he's not ending careers he looks poor. His touch for the goal alone is worth a few pints in the bar after.
  14. I've said this before, give Almiron runners and intelligent teammates and he looks a much better player. He basically created three of our best chances in open play tonight and that's with him playing on the wrong wing.
  15. Don't ever talk to me and my clumsy Kiwi son again. Get up there Woody. Not pretty but effective on a night when we needed it.
  16. And that's exactly my point which I made fairly clear. His critics won't turn on this, if anything they'll feel validated that for him this is about his self-indulgence and not furthering the cause of supporters.
  17. Lovely example of why VAR is a bit of a farce. we miss out on a stonewall pen at Chelsea and yet here the little nerds are straight on to rule it out.
  18. Have you had an audience with Amanda and Mehrdad? I'm not passing comment on the legitimacy of what's discussed or even the power that wields - both are negligible. The point is he has an opportunity to speak to the owners. Whether he uses that time to suggest a new striker or what sandwiches they offer in the platinum club it's still an opportunity the lion share of the fanbase (us included) will never get. Things like NUST run on their legitimacy. The second it starts to mirror that shite part of politics the more folk will turn off.

Did anyone see the thread about Winchester causing a massive security issue at the airport?
  20. It's wonderful and I encourage it. I also can see why people questioned Alex's motives. The fact he stepped down and then was reinstated without a vote amid talk of access to the owners etc doesn't enhance the idea of it being a democratic group. I get it, many would do the same when there's a chance to such unfiltered access, but it looks poor.
  21. This won’t do much to alter the opinions of Hurst’s critics.
  22. Would not go near Zaha, he’s exactly the type of player we don’t need.

Feels like yesterday I was heading down to Northumbria Uni to see Feeder and Franz Ferdinand.
  24. I like what I've seen of him. Quite physical and not always the easiest on the eye, but those types are going to be massive for you going forward.
