Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Not just top 4 last season but top 4 form for the second half of the season before, from when Howe took over. -
My apologies - that was a “whoosh”
-
Why the zoo references? I’ve missed something

That team actually excites me - a lot of players whose done really well pre season and earned their place and tonali. Harsh not giving barnes a game though. -
Don’t understand this reaction to be honest - if you class Gordon who was always planned to be a summer signing we’ve spent around £170m and that’s not including minteh etc - this takes the spending up to around the high £380m ish in the last 21 months. I personally think that’s fantastic.
-
Also on account of his age as well - every fan will want a cup run this season and we’re in another competition to boot on top of that we looked like we were on our arse at times towards the end of last season. I think tripps will be rotated a bit - especially in the lower rounds of the cup games but after that we’ll have to see.
-
Thanks for the info
-
Thought that had been banned - thought they’d limited it to 5 years from this summer?
-
I’m genuinely not seeing Leeds do a lot this season
-
Yeah but they were still a good strong team - bullied the fuck out of the mackems when they played them.
-
I agree with Soton and Leicester but not Leeds- I fancy Coventry as they were really strong second half of last season.
-
Used to being wrong - my wife tells me I am constantly but in this case I’m glad to be ?
-
but also turned down offers for Ward Prowse, Liveramento & Romeo at the same time
-
he's never kicked up a fuss ever about leaving and apparanly is very happy about them rescuing his unhappy time at Chelsea. Southampton also don't need the money so I don't see why not personally.
-
seems he's not gonna get that support from you
-
I don't think we'll get him - Southampton are turning every bid down for every player. I think they've made a call to keep their squad together to try and come back up
-
Last season it was abundantly clear we were under ffp limit, not so much now.
-
I was gonna type something very similar (same message) but couldn’t be arsed
-
This is sooo gonna happen if we don’t - going to be like ASM thread meltdown levels.
-
Finishing in top six and not embarrassing ourselves in CLwould be progress and finishing 4th again so getting CL again would be huge progress. Last season we achieved something well ahead of schedule and are struggling at the moment financially so if by per chance we don’t get top four I hope people don’t start seeing it as a failure.
-
Or get injured - I don’t know the exact figure of Chelsea sell on clause but haven’t I read that even at £30m they barely get anything? He may have got injured so they want cover but still don’t want him to go. I’ve also read that he’s not sold on us as he can’t see himself getting first team football and that’s why he wanted to leave Chelsea in the first place.
-
On every other day - frustrating or injured
-
Common sense - I love it
-
No guarantees he would have been that good if he stayed with us.
