  1. He's also got better stats in goal prevention, ie goals conceded and clean sheets. You're right he has let a few howlers in this season but the stats so far say pope on a bad season is still better at stopping goals than Ramsdale. We've seen us hold a narrow lead and get over the line soon many times with pope but not so much with Ramsdale as it ends up in points dropped.
  2. Depends what you look for in a keeper I suppose, I prefer a keepers primary skillset to be shot stopping personally. I suspect Howe will as well and put to pope straight back in when he's fit.
  3. Pope has kept 5 clean sheets in 12 games this season where Ramsdale has 0 in 6.
  4. Said it dozens of times - he barely has a clean sheet in him where Pope gets loads. Start of the season when we had no striker wasn't our goals conceded crazy low?

    Nick Pope

I love popes command of the box but I'd rather we didn't rush pope if we are and let's him rest properly.
  6. Yet everyone I work with in Nottingham told me as soon as we were linked with him that he was overrated and would do nothing for us. Literally every single Notts forrest fan I work with, none we're gutted to lose him
  7. Not just them but West Ham and Leeds as well.
  8. My fence is nice, very comfortable, wide enough to line a few beers on it and watch all the fires below.
  9. Can we please not resort to labelling people that have an opinion as idiots FFS.
  10. Exactly where I'm at, the poll needs a not sure option
  11. Poche got spurs to a CL final and semi final and four consecutive premiere league top four finishes - they hadn't got two seasons leading up to him taking the job. At Chelsea even though they sacked him he took a club in turmoil the season before that finished 12th up to finish sixth and got them two cup finals and a semi final. At Southampton he took a team that was finishing in bottom half to 8th, getting them there highest points finish and premiere League finish I think whilst getting a reputation for bringing on their talent, working with players like Luke Shaw to bring them through. Overrated is subjective but I think he could take us on to the next level, totally understand why others don't think this though as he's won very little and his Chelsea time was only half good. Emery - you never know if you don't ask, villa are doing well but their skint and he may see us as a bigger project, last time we approached him we'd proven nothing and were rock bottom, you just never know.
  12. I've just said my opinions a few posts up, not saying I want him sacked, just questioning him but I am in the camp that genuinely can't see how he changes things to get us out of this away from home / not controlling games anymore.
  13. Not saying they'd come but I'd try again for Emery but also like Poche. The day we got took over when Bruce was still here I genuinely said to my dad if I wake up tomorrow and either Howe or Poche has the job id be delighted.
  14. If this is people's genuine feelings then for them an overreaction is simply a reaction. I love Howe but as supporting Newcastle and have done my entire life of 51 years, this project since the takeover is about take us forward and at some point a change in management will be likely and people will always have different opinions on when that day is. That's one of the things that keeps football and it's forums like this fresh. I always said I wouldn't flip on one local derby but it's performance after performance these days that's getting doubt set in now.
  15. Somebody did, can't remember who
  16. Didn't he say he's finished with football as a whole if they win today?
  17. Agreed, sick of the "yawn", "bed wetters" responses to people saying he might have hit his ceiling. This season we've lost six out of sixteen and only won six so we're losing as many as we're winning, we've never come from behind to win yet many playing us have, we're struggling to see out draws (have managed it 4 times but two I know of were teams below us in Bournemouth and Leeds). Many are only saying now after this long it may be time so htf does that make them bed wetters?
  18. Agreed if he can't get them motivated to or a derby that catapults us above them and right back in where we want to be league position wise then what can he motivate them for? Are they all burnt out? Does everybody simply know now how to play against us? Is the tactics and ten selection wrong? Has he lost the players confidence?
  19. Is it him leaving or more the signings of Ramsdale and Elanga? £100m and Miley looks better then both
  20. I genuinely believe being Bournemouth manager that long then here he's not used to juggling so many tournaments, needing rotation etc and he therefore tends to stick with same setup.
  21. Yeah, always knew he would hit a glass ceiling at some point - sad I feel it's here but after summer signings, same tactics time and time again, reluctance to change, I love him and What he's achieved but I do feel more and more every game this season it's maybe time.
  22. He knows if he scores to get nick out the shit his reputation will be an all tone high amongst us.
  23. He's jumping the gun about wanting him to leave but he's not wrong about his one type of tactics and the fact they've now run their course. I do agree with him on that.
  24. At least they're giving him a go... Sometimes
