The cartel letting you want them and our bids getting accepted is a good starting point, like Elanga, livs, Botman, Bruno, Tonali, Hall, Isak at the time - we were allowed to buy them and most bring gambles as they had no prem experience. It’s not as if our doing this ended in a failure so it’s a case of Jesus Christ, let’s not try that again. It feels like somewhere our targets have become more obvious and predictable.

I think there’s probably a lot of truth in that.

My whole job is one big hang over these days, I used to be a van driver as a teenager and loved that, fill the van up and drive round Catterick , Northallerton etc delivering car parts to small garages - I loved that job.

And don’t have the budget to do that at this current time, if so then we need to do what we can do not what we’re trying to do on the transfer market. Minimum we should be saying someone better than Wilson and Longstaff needs to be brought in so the teams better. There’s time left yet but that should be a minimum for me, improve on who leaves

This is exactly where I’m at.. who knows if he is fed up now after walking a mile in their shoes then things may go better if we bring someone in to work with him now.

He was replying to someone saying he looked so downbeat- even if he was putting a front on his point is valid.

You’re right with it being the wrong thread so this will be my last (just so good getting months of frustration out lol), the tech debt is spot on - we now have full sprints dedicated to tech debt now and we never had to before, we also now can’t do a pull request without 80% code coverage where even AI has told me I have around 40% coverage but everything is covered - it’s just such a bad form of measurement.

Unfortunately though it’s coming to choose between current squad, short on numbers or run the risk a little either way players that may be good enough from further afield. This is why teams like us need a top notch scouting setup imo. -

That’s a fair point, chances are City would have said “nah let him go” -
Yeah but it’s biting them on the arse, brought it in several months ago and no less than six senior level devs with decades experience have quit so are they any better off? In my experience using it - it’s currently no better than a junior dev level, impressive but you have to push back, know your design patters and tell it what you want doing in great detail.

They want it lowered but have a 20% sell on clause, then getting it lowered to 35, Burnley still get more than us giving them £40 and there’s reports they want to do a deal to get City’s current second choice keeper so it’s in their interests to sell to them. -
Even if we paid the £40m - don’t they still have to go to Man City and ask “do you want him?” first?
-
lol yeah but he’s not gonna go to Saudi, being at the top of his game seems to drive him - Miggy didn’t want to go so there’s no way Isaks going to. Real or something like that would be my choice. I suspect he wants to stay in the prem as the game seems to suit him more but no one is going to pay his proper value.

At some point of say offering fifteen grand for Ferraris, after visiting every Ferrari dealer you need to accept your budget and buy a Vauxhall. We’re not offering reasonable offers cos they’re getting more so we need to look for players we will land in that price bracket. I knows it’s extremely difficult which is why you need a helluva back room setup to maybe think out of the box a little more like we seemed to when Staveley and co were here. -
They have a 20% sell on clause so I suspect that’s what they want to use as leverage to negotiate, it seems they have so many clauses tied in this one.
