I’m just not convinced Trafford is a good a shot stopper as Pope, we’ll find out one way or another this season I suppose. Dubs could kick but a lot on here got on his back about him letting easy shots in with “Pope would have stopped that”. For the amount of money Burnley are wanting you expect top class for goalkeeper and I’m not convinced he’s it on the evidence of a poor premiership season and a championship.

That’s the fee for prem strikers unfortunately and the age doesn’t bother me as he gives us that coverage for Isak for the next few years. I believe Isak won’t be signing a new contract for us so we’ll be looking to sell next year, getting someone in whose willing to play second fiddle for now but whose capable and gives us say a 3 or4 year concreting space to work through that is sensible to me.

I think so as well, staying in the London area and joining up with his old manager (and team mate I believe) as well as MGW. I think if he leaves that’s where he goes.

Two out of last three years he’s guided us to CL football so don’t just overlook his strengths and give it “fuck me another year of slicing it out for a throw in”. Everyone talks about Trafford’s clean sheets in the championship but they went down with him in goal and they never did when they had Pope, the season we bought him is the season they got relegated.

I have more confidence in him playing every game than I do Isak playing every game, we need a backup striker more than a keeper . Put this money towards that.

Thing is we’ve proven Isak will be undroppable and actions speak louder than words, any half decent forward will turn us down like so many are. He needs to give Osulu more minutes next season to prove he is willing to rotate isak more.

Going to Liverpool on the back of them winning the league isn’t the definition of a money grabber. We are progressing but Liverpool are already at the top and he’s going to be tempted.

Barnes and Gordon is something I disagree on as well though, this season Barnes was class when Gordon was out and as soon as Gordon was available Barnes got dropped, thought it was very harsh.

Look I love Howe but I also feel he should have been given more minutes, got to remember he also sent Minteh out on loan and I believe he would have done it again if he’d stayed but Brighton proved he was ready. IMO Howes only weakness is his inability to rotate better. Just my opinion though.

Agreed- one bloke in particular was so boring with them, you could talk football with him for say an hour (worked together) and he’d make it 100% Man U where with Leicester or Forest fans we’d discuss both teams like a normal conversation. It actually made me more conscious regarding talking football with people and I now always check myself to make sure it’s not all Newcastle

Bearing in mind Bournemouth is wanting something like £60 -70m for a 29 year old with only one year left on his contract, we need to stop thinking like £55m is a lot,,it really isn’t in today’s market.
