Wilson had been saying for weeks and weeks that he feels good and he's back to his best, even when he clearly wasnt. He obviously wasn't properly fit for a while after the World Cup, whether that was an illness or whatever. Just hope he is legitimately back to his usual self this time because he needs to be at 100% to produce what Isak has recently.

Hard to pick out which players aren't pivotal at this moment. Murphy and ASM the only 2 who you could see drop onto the bench and maybe understand, everyone else and it would be extremely harsh if they didn't start.

Not the Howe way is it really. The next game is always the most important and Isak has become incredibly important. He'll play Isak until there is a reason (injury/fatigue) not to.

I think that can go one of two ways. Either that restricts the space ASM has to run into and beyond the West Ham defenders and therefore nullifies his threat OR it gives ASM so many more opportunities to get on the ball closer to West Hams box and out of that comes a more threatening ASM because he's consistently able to get into their box as they are playing so deep.

Just feel good about wanting Liverpool to lose instead.

Anyone else be excited to see Felix here? I know he wouldn't fit into our 433 really but he's shown he's a very good player in this poor Chelsea team.

I applaud the effort you've gone to digging through old threads, kudos for that. But I still don't think Chelsea are winning the Champions League this season nor are Man Utd winning the Europa either I wouldn't say.

Obviously it's not impossible but that's totally different from this season. Chelsea finished that season only a few points off top 4. Whereas this season they are not even in the top 10 currently and can't hit a barn door.

Winning this West Ham game is a big one because of how difficult the two will be. Its a relief that we've got most of the squad back fit now as the games are coming so quickly. If we can get through the next 3 games with 7 points then we go into the Spurs game with a chance to put a wedge between us and them. I dont see Spurs winning ALL there next 3, I think they'll probably get 6 points before we face them.

£50/55m for a player like Ferlan Mendy isn't all that bad. He's been injured alot recently though, I wonder whether he'll come back the same player or not (lost a bit of pace/agilty) and perhaps that's why they are willing to let him go. I think sadly for Burn and Target, LB is a position where we need to go big and I don't necessarily mean price tag big, but they need to be top top quality because of how we play.

It's going to be really interesting in the summer to see who we bring in at RW/LW. Because as I see it we've already got ASM, Gordon and Miggy (Isak also can play out wide) who will be desperate to start next season. You add maybe Diaby or Thuram into that and you've got a very versatile set of 4/5 wide players who you can rely on to produce something. Gordon has 11 games left to show Howe what he'll bring next season. I've been impressed so far with the limited amount I've seen but obviously he just needs to start getting those goals and assists to let us all know he's the real deal.

Spot on. Aresnal, Man City, Man Utd, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea all have teams filled with CL level players and he's been superb against the vast majority of them so saying that he wouldn't be able to do it against the better teams from Europe makes no sense.

This is exactly why I'm so surprised ASM and Miggy dont swap wings occasionally when they play together. Even if it's just for 10 minutes, it's another level and different option to have a player getting to the line and pulling back a cross.

If that's doesn't tell you everything you need to know, I don't know what will. For most of the season we've dominated teams for spells of the game or for one half or the other but this was close to 90% control of the attacking areas.
