Even if we get Europa I reckon they'll be alot of talk about him going. Only way to more or less guarantee him staying is to get Champions League and that's not happening.

Abraham is a decent player for sure. But the injury does worry me, we don't need another striker with an ongoing issue. It's why I'd much prefer Solanke, even if he's more expensive, you'd be confident he'd play 30+ games a season. But definitely not for £60M.
-
Don't pay it then. He can leave our employment in 2026 and we'll have someone else in before this coming summer. We've held out over far more expensive problems (Hendrick, Hayden, Saviet) and that's just current and recent once. 1.5M is fuck all compared to what those players took up in wages over their contract since not playing for us.
-
When are these new rules coming in? Before the summer window? From what I've seen/heard we'll not be any better off under the new FFP structure than we are currently.
-
Whatever they pay in compensation will far outweigh what we have to pay Ashworth while he's gardening. So it makes no difference really, the longer he sits there doing fuck all, we can still get another DoF in but Man U will be waiting for him. We hold all the cards with this deal unfortunately for them.
-
Are there any young up and coming DoFs we can get in from South America? No doubt Chelsea or possibly Liverpool will need another one ina year or two. Quite possibly our best way to loosen the FFP belt it would seem.
-
Gareth Ainsworth. Plays the most agricultural of football you will ever see in the football league, so yes I hope they go for him.
-
Without a doubt but that's not why he should stay. He should stay because it will give him the best opportunity to prove what kind of manager he actually is. Does he want to be Guardiola/Klopp/Wenger and create a legacy or would he rather be Conte/Tuchel and bounce around every couple of years.
-
Certainly wouldn't be a fan of brining in that ex Bournemouth guy. Like others have said, I don't think brining in someone who Howe knows is a good move. Make a fresh start. They need to move quickly whatever they do and ideally find someone we dont have to pay any compo for.
-
You can tell me all you like but what you say isn't fact, it's still only an opinion like the thousands of others out there. If you think Ashworth won't get stick if Man Utd go on an continue to be mediocre once he's appointed (lets say two seasons into his time there) then you are absolutely deluded.
-
He can definitely lose. The media and fan attention on him once he starts there is going to be insane. If it goes tits up, he's going to get abuse just like anyone else would at that club. I'd class that as losing.
-
I'd much rather win against Blackburn than against Arsenal. Id take a 4 nil loss in the league to get a 1 nil win in the cup if that was offered to me right now and that what this season has done to me. I think that's what most people are getting at, just hoping we put everything into that Blackburn game to ensure progress is made.
-
Hardly a rip off if those are the terms in his contract. Ashworth will have agreed to these kind of terms and if he's THAT good then £20M is nothing to those Londoners.
-
Well that's that then. Remove him from the building(s) ASAP and get on with finding his replacement. Whatever Man Utd want from this, we just need to do the exact opposite. Can't afford to have him in at Old Trafford in the summer really, not even for £20M.
-
I hope anyone but Liverpool get Alonso. If he had any sense he would stay at Leverkusen.
-
Shame the ref has no bollocks. Casemiro should've been off for a second yellow, no doubt about it.
-
Oh fuck, off the bar, that's unlucky! That'll be the game right there.
-
Lokonga has been excellent.
-
I really hope the Luton fans are making the most of this season because it feels like it's never going to get better than this again for them. Not too dissimilar to how it was for us last year. If they stay up, more will be expected next year and if they go down they'll probably never get back up again.
-
That Doughty guy looks absolutely nothing like a footballer but he's decent. Got a bit of everything and seems to be everywhere.
-
Thats as much of a yellow card as the one he actually got a yellow for.
-
That was an odd one, Shaw doesn't really move and there's plenty of space for Ogbenne to go round him, not sure that's a yellow card.
-
Yes I understand the actual reason it's on TV, but atleast show Brighton against one of the teams fighting around Europe with them or Sheff Utd against one of their relegation rivals. Its an objectively bad choice of game even before the red card.
-
How the fuck this is chosen to be on TV is beyond me. Unless you're one of the 30'000 Brighton fans there's no reason to be excited to watch this. And it's proving that right now.
