Kuol hasn't had the best time in the Eredivisie this season, nor did he at Hearts. At this time I don't think he'd be capable of contributing anything meaningful to this team. Minteh on the other hand I think there's a possibility, he looks far stronger and quicker. But he's best off staying put for now.
-
I get the point behind this and I know he scored two for Forrest but he isn't capable of playing pressing football. There's no way he's pressing their backline at the 75/80th minute. Atleast if you put Joelinton or Gordon up there they would 100% be doing their job. A CM and striker would be great in January. But I think we'll probably only sign one player, unless one is able to come on loan ofcourse.
-
Tonali is a big miss for this obviously but we've got cover in CM to get us to January. Isak being out is much worse for us in the short term. Don't want Wilson having so much pressure being put on him to play 90 minutes every 4 days.
-
Targett is a LB and possibly a LWB at a stretch. Burn is LB and a CB. Hall can and has played about 5 different potions. I assume he'll be used as and when he's needed to cover various positions as 3rd choice in each of those positions. FA Cup third round is probably where we'll see him get his first 90 mins (assuming we are drawn a L1 or L2 team)
-
I absolutely agree that's its not as simple as just swap those two over, because having Burn in their changes our defensive and offensive shape into a back 3 at certain points. Having Burn does also mean extra height for defending against teams who play for set pieces or are especially good at them. So like you say, not as simple as it seems.
-
Other than the fact that he made us far more dangerous in open play when he came on. He's actually very good at set peice delivery, which is especially useful when Trippier is having one of those games where none of his seem to hit our men.
-
Definitely will have to use them and it's most likely going to be very soon. That's my exact point, I'd rather we not be in this position where they HAVE to play, but because of injuries and bans we will have to. Obviously Livramento is going to come in for Tripps at some point (probably Man Utd) but I'm interested to see where Hall comes in, because I don't see him replacing Burn or Targett at LB for any upcoming games.
-
Everyone begging for Livramento and Hall to play more is more than likely going to get their wish over the next month or two. I think unfortunately we will be worse off for it though. Hall especially is not currently at the same level as any of the midfielders (where he'll have to play because we have Burn and Targett at LB ahead of him and with Anderson and Tonali out we're low in numbers there) we have and Tino has proved he's quality but he is a different type of player from Trippier, who we'd miss massively if Tino replaces him at any point.

This is a fucking tight game. More nervous than I was at any point against PSG.
-
He's shaking his head, looks like Isak could be done for.
-
Isak buggered? Or we just need a bit of a rest? Could be either quite easily.
-
Must be very wet out there, players seem a bit unsure on their feet so far. Could see someone get caught out with the way the ball is skipping off the turf.
-
Brandt being out is great for us. He's been on good form in the league for them. Can't wait, but I just hope the atmosphere can crank up a notch in the next 20 minutes.
-
100% Tonali needs to be replaced. No doubt about that for me. Miley and Hall are not suitable replacements for him in the sqaud, we need an experienced player ready to come in a help control the game. Not an easy player to find though, especially if we only want a loan, makes it more difficult if anything.
-
Yes I could get why we'd go for that, it would allow more options in different types of games. Onana would be a great loan but that won't happen and he's basically Willock X Joelinton so perhaps is also not necessary.
-
"Social Sanctions" is quite a vague term. Could be anything from banning him from gambling/gaming establishments to having him attend weekly meetings or sessions. Makes sense though, and obviously much better than being actually banned from playing for a full 18 months.
-
Onana would be great. I do think it's total overkill actually signing another CM though, don't see him being available on loan so probably a non starter.
-
Nor sure if you're being serious or not. But that's certainly an "interesting" way to look at it, not one I can agree with though.
-
Which is surprising because he scored and got 2 assists and that's exactly what he bases his team off. Went with Salah for some reason instead.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Mazzy replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
As long as we're on 7 by Thursday morning I don't really care BUT it would be glorious if PSG and Milan drew, would be great to have a 3 point cushion at top spot and more importantly a 4 point gap to third. -

In two minds about wanting to see us and City be the only teams to get through to the knockout stages, it would really hammer home the point of how much we actually deserve to be there. But then thinking, if all fours clubs do well then there's a higher chance of Premier League getting a 5th spot next season and therefore us being slightly more like to requalify, its 50/50. -
It's a good point, no one would've paid good (or any) money for Schar, Lascelles, Almiron, Longstaff, Joelinton or Murphy before the takeover. Also, players have off days, Guehi and the rest of the defence were on a hiding to nothing in that game really, mistakes were always going to happen, as they almost always do against us by design of our gameplan.
-
Well there's already been two other "rumours" going about, one saying 6 months and the other saying 12 months so one of them is bound to be right out of sheer luck.
-
Loan with an OPTION to buy would obviously be the best for us but wouldn't really suit Philips or Man City so I would be surprised to see that happen. Its either a straight loan or we have to buy him IMO.
-
Yes perhaps he is their guy. But that could also be down to them having their usual start of season blip before going onto a 18 game winning run.
