We either need real pace on the wings or two forwards up top. Switzerland are terrific in terms of organisation and play 3 CBs. Kane alone up top with Foden coming inside isn't going to cut it. For me it's the perfect game for Gordon (to run at Schar) and Palmer to play RW to get in between the lines. If Foden has to play, I'd bring him in as a No.10 and drop back Bellingham to an 8. Then, after an hour or so you have the flexibility to bring off Foden, push Bellingham up, and bring Mainoo on. If we need a goal we could bring Saka on at LB again to give us even more pace on the left and more width. That really stretched the game for us and is a good tactic only when we're dominant in possession...

Feel like he'd be a bit like Mitrovic. You need to build a team to suit his style of play and he could be a little infuriating to watch from time to time. Could be a wonderful player mind, and a real handful.

I don't see how our management, who have been on the whole extremely diligent, would have got it so monumentally wrong. Everything has been incredibly well planned on the whole.

I'm really not buying that the management of our PSR situation was so bad we had to sell Minteh AND Anderson and that we had to reach an agreement for Ashworth. I do believe there was a deficit, and it would have been irresponsible and naive for the club to place all their eggs in one basket to ensure compliance. Given that Minteh went for 30M and Anderson 35M, I believe that is telling. I think there's some smoke and mirrors going on, and long term I wouldn't be surprised if this year's figures gave us some wiggle room in the future (i.e. we are well and truly in the black!)

Appreciate that mate. I don't think he's worth £25m and I'm certainly not arguing for that. Anderson isn't worth anywhere near £35m either to be fair... (Although he's more worth 35m than this lad is 25m, I concede..) My point is, if Chelsea can sell hotels to themselves to work around PSR/FFP then this is our equivalent. We're basically sticking two fingers up to the whole thing. The only reason we're spending 25m on him is because they're spending 35m on Anderson. Neither deal, in isolation, is value for money or would be pursued by either club.

I'd be in this boat, but he's probably going on to be on 3x more wages than Karius, and realistically earning the same as Dubs... The fee of £15-25m I couldn't care less, so long as Anderson goes the other way for 35 and we don't have to sell a purple

Aye, but as I understand it, if we're only paying him a modest wage (maybe replacing Dubravka), then the 25m is really here nor there. We're getting 10m for Anderson plus lots of wiggle room with FFP

So we sell Anderson at 35M (value 15M) Buy Vlachodimos at 25M (value 5M) We technically sell Anderson for 10M.... But Anderson gets us +35M this seasons accounts and Vlach is pushed over 3-4 seasons.... (6-7M a year) Just creative accounting right?
